READ THIS ? InsanePoet was it REALLY necessary to grab us all by the throat with your READ THIS directive ?

Surely "XIAN RPG" or something MORE PRECISE would have been appropriate, I am sure that your project is very important but with a subject like "READ THIS" you've got EVERYBODY'S ATTENTION

is that justified ?

Thanks for the warm welcome! I was born in Indonesia, and I'm studying at the University of Queensland. I'm very interested in RPGs ever since I played Final Fantasy in SNES. Last week I was googling around for some christian gaming companies who might be able to give me some experience, and I came across Eric from www.ChristianGaming.com, who referred me to this site. I have done C for some assignments before, but I use Java most of the time. I've done some AI on CLISP as well. I can probably start with black box testing if you are interested in some help. Basically there's 3 months break over the summer starting from 2 weeks from now, and I thought of doing something constructive for 1-2 hrs per day.

Ok here's some basic info...

INFINITUM: Alius Quo Terra (Stranger To Earth)
_____________________________________________________

What is Infinitum?: Infinitum is mostly a strategic RPG using the torque engine. Infinitum is a Christian game. It is not overtly Christian (as in, it doesn’t *directly* allude to things), but all things are symbolic and have Biblical meaning.

Story and Symbolism: The prologue introduces the game w/ the character being rescued from destruction. He did not know that he was headed towards destruction, but he was saved by the sacrifice of the King Vestar and beyond his control, he was saved from damnation. The story progresses as the character faces various trials and matures spiritually. Certain places will symbolize certain evils. Some are simple, some more complex. The sin or evil is symbolized by a place and is portrayed by what the place is (terrain etc). The consequences of that particular sin/evil are embodied in the form of various monsters and creatures, these monsters and creatures are somehow a display of that particular evil.

This is basic and general information; specifics will not be posted publicly. We do have more developed then this, such as specific game systems (inventory, character stats, etc). We also have some concept art done.

Infinitum is still young and any support is welcome.

Interesting, I can probably think of more stories, such as walking around the walls of the evil castle, and some mini-games like dance revolution kind of game with praise songs, casting legion demons into suicidal pigs, and wrestling with an angel
But then again, can I assume that the game design is somewhat finalised?

Certain things are finalized to a degree.
as in what type of game it is, how it will play.
The concepts have somewhat been established.
Though not totally.

How about this, you can email me some aspects which you think might need some fresh design ideas, and the boundaries of the system. Then I'll try to contribute as much as I can. BTW, my last exam is on 23rd.

Well, you can join the design team, if you'd like.
That would mean a commitment to the team.
We don't just give out stuff on the game to ppl.

We are looking for the kinda commitment that you will stick with the project.
Engineers? Well, me, no, i'm a layman.

Also, you should know what type of game this is.
Infinitum is a worldview game and deals with the nature of God and the nature of man, Infinitum is not pleasant and can be brutally honest.
Infinitum is not an evangelist tool, it is to impact the culture and make ppl think.

So if it is not an evangelistic tool, then the impact on the culture is to point away from Christ rather than pointing towards him? and what is it to make them think about?

or would you rather say infinitum is evangelistic, but not overtly? or solely?

Well karl, in a way it is evangelical.
Let me clarify my terms. When I say evangelical, I mean strait out giving them the Gospel.

Indeed, Infinitum does point to Christ, just not overty.
So, i guess it could be an evangelical game.
