Hello all! I'm new to this community so bare with me I have much to say regarding an idea for a Christian game. But first, I will give you a brief history of myself. I was born into a christian family. While early in my life my father felt the call to become a pastor. Not only was I fortunate enough to be raised a PK. I was also born an artist kinda of an oxy-moron. Just kidding....at any rate as I got older. I wanted to get into a creative career. After attending some at the Art Academy of Cincinnati. I realized that I too felt a call in my life, but it wasn't to be a pastor as my dad, but rather something else. The problem was I didn't know what that something esle would was as the time. Later as time has past I have since become a Graphic Designer and have done that for several years now. All the while, I have be seeking God's direction in how to apply my abilities. Then one day I was talking to my dad. And he suggested making Christian based games. He knew how much I like games, but most of them are just simply too violent and secular. I was heavey into the Quake scene for years. I stopped playing Quake over a year ago now, but I was so heavey into to it, that I started to develop a passion for gaming. So after speaking with my dad about his game idea, I decided to take off with it. The problem is I haven't gotten far. I'm still in the process of developing the idea, but do have a pretty good foundation as to how the game is to be played and the plot of it. Or least, I think I do. Now, being an artist and I have a good understanding of almost all professional graphic software...which is not a lie I felt like I could build a game. One problem existed and still exists. I'm not a programmer, so I set out to teach myself how to program. Well, although I have learned alot it is still not enough to build the game. So I'm here to plead with one of you programmers to help me. I can build the game art/media and I have been working on the research and the game idea for quite sometime. I also have my dad to support me in the game ideology, but wouldn't mind some input from someone who would like to be apart of it. There is some other good news to this, not only do I feel I can create the art for the game. As a Graphic Designer I have a pretty good understanding of how to market the game. This is important, because once the game is created. I don't want it to flounder. I'm looking for it to be homes across America. A good alternative to Quake, Unreal and all those kinds of games. Off course this game is not a 3D Shooter, but the idea is to do like a 3D shooter. Possibly designed in the manner of Tomb Raider without the guns off course. If anyone is interested in hearing more about the game idea and especially interested in helping me build it. Please contact me as soon as you can. My email is slimmy@webjaz.net. ICQ# is 155962713

Hi Slim! Welcome to the site! I too felt the call to Christian gaming. However, I was called to the programming end of things. I am currently working at Monkeystone games with John Romero, the creator of Quake. I can't dedicate a lot of time to making Christian games right now, cuz I have a more than full-time job, but I am very interested in your idea and would love to keep in touch with you, as I hope to soon be able to dedicate all my time to Christian games very soon! Have you looked into going to the Christian Game Developer's Conference?

God bless and keep you!

Dunno whether it's too late to go to the conference, but if you can be there, that would be great. I'm hopefully coming to it, travelling from the UK. Should be an experience ...

The conference address is http://cgdc.graceworksinteractive.com

I would love to go to the conference, but two things keep me from going. One is money....that is a real big issue and two, I hate flying. So unfortunately, I don't think I can make it....maybe they'll have it close to Cincinnati one year. Heck, I might be able to get a place to go...heh.
