Hey I know how to make 3D landscapes. Must have missed your question. I made one for 3D Game Studio. I herd of other people who used really expensive software. 3DGS is relitively cheep. It takes gray scale bitmaps representing elevations and changes them to 3d models that can be skinned by your choice of skin I made a really cool map of the earth for by Christian game using NASA images and USGS elevation data that was down sampled to the proper size by a LabVIEW program I wrote. The image I needed was for sale for about $2500, saved a fortune. I hope to reliece my first Milestone on this site soon. The second milestone will be much harder and I havent compleatly formulated it yet. I will have to learn how to do models later "good help is hard to find". If any other questions please feel free to ask.

I thought you made your own? What are you talking about?

The 3D program that i'm thinking of using is Maya's alias wavefront. downloaded free version at www.aliaswavefront.com . It helped create Lord of the rings movie, Ice age, Perfect storm, some Final Fantasy games, and the Final Fantasy move! It cost 7,500!! But on a recent TV commercial they lowered it to 1,999! Yea! I saw someone working on it once and it was SWEET! Physics are built into the program and everything!

Ok. LabVIEW is not free. I have a licence with my work. Its just a general purpose programming language what I did could have been done in Java, C or whatever those are free but LabVIEW is sure alot easyer.

3DGS has a free demo, I bought the $99 verson at www.conitec.net/a4info.htm this works very well. For doing the 3D models and has a powerful scripting language and 3D engine and everything you need to make great 3D games. They have more expensive versions that I will probably buy before I publish the final product.

Hopefully I will finish my first milestone this weekend. About all the first milestone is, is the a board of a board game without all of the pieces.

I would like to post it in the showcase here at CCN but after I looked in to it, it looks like I can only link to it there and I would need to write and make a web page myself. Getting my web page up and running might take forever.

Yes I did do the elevation bit map myself, saveing $2500, if I were to buy the bitmap from this one site I saw on the internet it would have cost me $2500 all for one days programming in LabVIEW.

I have never used Maya or 3d studio max the very popular 3d packages. The package I did use 3d game studio, also works with the models generated by those packages.

I'm not much of an artist. I agree with you I would like to find a model artist to do some happy go lucky, friendly, art.

Hey, Gift making a web site is nothing! All you have to know is HTML and it is a very simple language! check this out:

<html>
<title>My cool 3D board game!</title>
<body><center><h1>My board game</h1></center>Hello! Welcome to my site that diplays my sweet board game!<br> Click on the link below to view some pictures of it!<br><a href=http:\\mypics.com>Click Here!</a><br><br>Click on this next link to download the file!<br> <a href=http:\\mydownload.com>Click Here!
</body>
</html>

Copy and paste the above into notepad (not word) then save as whatever.html
open a browser then click file open browse and look for the file you just saved and open it.

Of course this web site is very basic and could be improved a lot! www.angelfire.com also gives free webpages! If you would like help on a webpage I would be glad to give some . Unless you have other plans.

The links that I added are only examples!

<title>: this goes on the very top bar of the browser

<body>: this is whatever you want in the webpage

<h1>: this creates a header on your webpage

<br>: this moves the type line down one

<a href=http:\\exmaplepage.com> this links you to another webpage only if there is text or a pic afterwards

Pretty simple huh!
there is more to it though :O

Yeah, I can put a page up through my ISP but the major thing is the design. I think at this point the main focus would be to get people interested in the ministry, more or less a people raising effort. My wife knows HTML but I'm without a clue. But not being an artist what ever I came up with would not really look so great. Just look at Christian Coders it has great art and that really makes it look nice it gives a good impression. Is stealing art from another page like a crime or something? Cuz it would be easy to get art that way. right click, save as...
