If the stand thing looks like then that piece is an adaptor and is for things like the iHome in order to fit your ipod in the dock the correct way, as well as for anything else just about you dock your ipod on. Unfortunately, it doesnt serve much use outside of that, and i was wondering if it connected to the usb thingy when i got mine. As far as battery life is concerned, things may be different for a refurbished ipod (i doubt by much, though, as i've heard that apples refurb standard is very high..if you got it apple refurbed, that is). Mine was able to last through an 8 hour school day, though that would just be during the passing periods. On the apple site, it says that the first generation ipod nano would last 14 hours, and the second generation would last 24 hours. However, on the site it describes how they do their testing. See http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61475 .

That's a dock adapter. Many docks are designed for the bigger iPod classics and Apple provides a dock adapter so that the Nano fits better.

You should have more than 10 hours of battery on any iPod, unless you're running Rockbox on a 1st Gen .

Hi,

iThink that you are iReferencing some iPod iAdapter. iF you are using other iProducts such as the iPhone, iMac, and the iLLbbacklater, this iAdapter may become iUsefull. As far as the iBattery, iUse mine for several hours at a iTime, iNcluding playing through a PA system, so iWouldn't worry about the iBattery booster at this iTime. iF you need the iBattery iBooster later, it might be a good iPurchase.

(I actually like my IPOD better than my IZOD)

the stand thing is a dock adaptor. my 2nd gen nano 2gb lasts about 8 hours (if i play games a lot during that timespan) to about 12-14 hours (if i play games sparingly and if i have the backlight off most of the time).

i tried my ipod at work today and it lasted the approximately 8 hour time, not bad i didn't think it would make it more than 4 or 5 hours.

and you are right the apple refurb standard is quite high you can't tell the differnce between new one and refurbed one.

and they sell it for a good price too $85(including shipping).

other than that is there such thing as a wireless headphone for the ipod?? because unless i wear a jacket the wires of the headphone can interfere with my work so...

there are, but the cheapest on amazon is like $35. what i do is drop the ipod with 'phones down my shirt, and put it in my pocket. it's not uncomfortable, and it doesn't interfere with working at all.
