So...who here is from Texas? What part of Texas? How long have you lived there? Do you do any fun stuff around town? What? Where? What's your favorite places to eat? I'll go first! I'm from Texas. I live and work in the (Northern) Houston Area. I've lived here for the last 2 years and about 20 minutes EAST for the 10 years before that. Prior to living there I lived in East Texas (Tyler/Jacksonville/Palestine area) and I lived in Arlington when I was a wee little baby. I don't do too much outside of work and play video games at home but I have been known to go to Main Event (big video game arcade with bowling and laser tag). There's 5 restaurants I'd like to highlight. 2 - Matsu: best sushi in town! 3 - The Melting Pot: a bit expensive and takes some time for a meal but it's great for anniversaries and birthdays! 4 - Carlos Mexican Restaurant: amazing breakfast buffet on Sat/Sun mornings!!!!! 5 - Bossa: Great atmosphere, great latin cuisine, beautiful downtown Houston! Ok, who's up next? [This message has been edited by mastallama (edited August 08, 2007).] |

quote: Wow! More specifically, I live in Spring, TX just east of I-45 and just north of 1960! I use to live in Humble...but moved when I got married. Where in North Houston do you live? What college will you be going to?
quote: Those are all great places too! Nothing beats a $0.99 double cheese burger for a quick dinner and some coding! |

quote: I used to drive down Wilcrest on my way to work in the Galleria area. Are you near Wilcrest and I-10 or closer to Wilcrest and Westheimer? Yes, I live in Spring, TX and I work in The Woodlands, TX.
quote: Eh, it's not too confusing. It's not all Houston. Think of it as Europe...a bunch of small countries close together. (Not the best analogy, but you get the idea).
quote: HCC should be fun. I went to NHMCC (North Harris Montgomery Community College) and really wanted to go to San Jac CC South to be in their jazz band program, but never did. I think Community Colleges are under-rated alot of times.
quote: Nope. I don't go to too many concerts unless it's like a local band or something. |

i live near i-10 really close to memorial and wilcrest. i think hcc is't as bad as people who haven't seen it think,i had to go to summer class at hcc to graduate and i just finished. most of the guys at this site are from indiana or montana or wyoming or one of those mid-west/central north states ,when you tell people you live in texas they think you live in the midst of cows and cowboy and stuff, but texas is quite a modern state. but i don't see too many programmers in houston. other than that houston was quite boring at first but no so bad now. ------------------ Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life.
