Hi, RA Games is already taken by somebody, so I have to change the name and make a new logo. I reserved the name, cougarinteractive.com, and will be changing the site in the coming months. Basically, the new game is for NON-Christians and not for Christians, okay? Is that okay? It has JOHN 3:16 and others in it. It is really made for the un-saved. Christians don't need JOHN 3:16. The lost need it. QUESTION:
I would like to know. What do you think? Be honest. I know, some of you might be upset? Thanks, ------------------ [This message has been edited by RA Games (edited May 09, 2007).] |

Quite frankly, if someone is offended at that they aren't within your target audience---and something I learned a long time ago is that there seems to be a decent amount of people in the christian industry that look to be offended over stuff like that---like they get a feeling of righteousness slamming someone else---so don't base it off of others opinions--talk with God about it---honestly I don't think he'd be offended by it ------------------ |

Hi Friends, Actually, I have been talking with God about it. A lot actually and for many months. Yes, God wants to have FUN and God wants to communicate His great love to you and to everybody down here. Yes, Christians can play it, but I think some will slam me for being "Un-Godly", so I need to gauge your reaction to it. I'm happy if you are not offended, but I worry about those that will and also what is the percentage??? Is anyone offended? Thanks and God bless you guys. ------------------ |

I don't find it offensive at all, I also don't see how someone could find a cougar dressed up as a pirate offensive. I can imagine that someone may find it offensive but like, come on. I do think you should get someone to draw it out for you professionally however. That'd add some additional class to your games and site. |

quote: I would disagree. Christians do need all of scripture. Reviewing the essentials of the Gospel daily is an important part of the Christian walk. John 3:16 is not the entire Gospel though. ------------------ |

I don't think it's really glorifying pirates, but if you wanted to be on the safe side you could probably just take the skull and crossbones off and away you go. Angel is a pretty good artist, here's his writing site, his email is at the bottom. You should drop him an email and see if he'd be interested and what his rates are. |

What is God's great love? These verses are spoken by God in the game.
string 1john4= "1 JOHN 4:8\n\nAnyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love."; string john3 = "JOHN 3:16\n\nFor God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,\n\nthat whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."; But there are judgement verses as well. Also, one in Revelation that is at the link below. The animated JOLLY ROGERS speaks that one and others. Yes, God talks in my games, even in the Jolly Rogers. lol
Cain is only one of 8 characters and is the only pirate kitty. I'll e-mail Angel. ------------------ |

It offends me to see a pirate cougar without even a single gold tooth. |

quote:To one man a Pirate, to another a full blooded Patriot. Yes, lets not glorify… Hollywood! Haha Hollywood pirates sux. For us Americans, we owe a great debt of gratitude to historical Pirates in regards to the formation and defense of our Republic. If we had no Pirates to fight for us, we could quite possibly still be under the yoke of the king. Also, Pirates invented democracy of which we have now a Democratic Republic here. Then there were of course the Templar Pirates (i.e. Knights Templars), they were those that escaped the Roman Catholic Church upon their persecution to death (where we get Friday the 13th) because they owned the banks. But the fleet escaped and they carried out attacks on the enemy fleets (i.e. Vatican) under the jolie rouge (flag) -red representing the blood of Christ, skull representing Golgotha and crossed bones for the cross. Though I will note, I don’t buy the Masons story in regards to later accounts of the lost fleet. So am I glorifying Pirates? Some maybe, but historically speaking having had studied the issue to some historical extent. Heh, I find it also interesting that Bartholomew Roberts (though not a exemplary role model to say the least) had Sunday service on his deck every Sunday, also employed musicians to lead worship then would teach form the bible. Why is that interesting? They called him Black Bart, the most successful Pirate in the hey day of such privateering.

It is just like when someone likes knights, samurais or ninjas--they like the fantasy representation and not necessarily the real thing--I say keep the skull and cross bones it gives a funny attitude to the cougar (LOL around here we call them mountain lions!!) ------------------ |

You could also switch the hat to a red bandana. People will be offended no matter what. I remember one person mentioning at CGDC 2003 (?) people were offended at some game because he had some dark colors in it. A gold tooth would be cool, as CohortX mentioned. I'm greatly offended. an eye patch? that's incredibly insensitive to those who lost their eye from BB gun accidents.

[/B][/QUOTE] i can vouch for that. one time i was watching the movie Cube 2 with my left eye (it was late so i figured i'd half sleep). so when i shut it off i had perfect vision in my right eye and it was pitch black in my left. ------------------ |

quote: TGS ? Hmmmn, that must be TWO GUYS STUDIO'S? I remember you guys. You guys were great, but I don't remember what music you were playing. I guess I was not offended. Wow, yes, the music is another potential sore spot. Here is the CAIN'S CAVERNS song below. Most people think it is PUNK rock or something. I've already been told, to turn down the guitars in it. CAIN'S SONG:
Oh well, let's just forget about it and try our best to do what God tells us to do. No worry, just faith only. Sorry to bother you guys. ------------------ |

LOL it was Two Guys Software hehe Yeah I understand man---I used to go through that phase too--especially when I was initially starting up Team KAIZEN I had to go through it---but I finally realized God is leading my studio and, if he is blessing it, then he will work it out (which he is blessing it and working it out hehe) so who cares what others think at that point? Want a good look at that kind of thing? http://www.skillet.com/news/images/fireworks2.jpg that is an interview with Skillet where they talk about what it is like dealing with 'Christians' when they are more interested in being offended than anything else--which is psudo-christian in my book---but that is an excellent interview--just read it again today and realized that you might be interested ------------------ |
