I wasn't able to format this interview as I'm a bit busy with Pyweek4. Sorry.

This week's interview is with crazyishone:

When did you hear about CCN?

Why did you join?
To make/join a team of developers and make the next big game. Why else?

Do you program?
A little bit.

What languages do you program in?
C++, Perl, and PHP.

Are you learning any new ones?
I am always learning C++ it seems, and I have thought about picking up Python

What operating system(s) do you normally use? Why do you use them?
I use Windows XP, Kubuntu Linux, and Slackware Linux. I boot into XP if I want to play World of Warcraft. I also use Kubuntu for development-related things and run Slackware on my server.

Is there any particular reason why you chose to run Slackware on your server?
Slackware has a reputation of stability. I also wanted to use the creation of my personal server as a learning experience, and thought that Slackware would force me to leave apt behind in favor of compiling source.

What are the specs of your home and/or work computers?
My primary computer (used for both work and play) is a pathetic rig really. 1.6gz AMD Athlon XP, 512MB, ATI Radeon 9000. The specs on the server aren't worth mentioning

What other non-server, programming, or gaming things do you enjoy doing on a computer?
well that rules out alot. On the computer thats just about it. I guess that leaves, Network Security, and similar things. I talk to people alot and I used to contribute to various sites and things like that, but not so much anymore.

How old were you when you became interested in computers and/or programming?
14.

What was it that fascinated you?
At first, the idea of making a game of my own seemed incredible. I had always liked computers but I wasn't any better with them than the next guy. I suppose you could say my interest began when I was 12, but I really don't know. It's not like one day I woke up and thought, "Hey. I think I'll throw my life into the electronic abyss!"

How old are you now?
17.

What is it that fascinates or still fascinates you today?
The idea of making a lasting contribution to the world in the area of science and technology.

Do you have a game console? If so what is it and why did you buy it?
I have a Nintendo Wii. I bought it, quite honestly, because it was cheap and because it seemed innovative.

Was the Wii your first console?
No. I have had a Nintendo 64 and Playstation 2.

Do you touch the graphics field of computing very often (such as modeling, or 2D art, etc)?
Yes, I play around i nthat area sometimes. People generally suffer for it, so I try to remember my place.

Do you have any opinions on net neutrality?
Yes. Thats all. It should be clear where I stand on that debate... "Mega Corporations and Big Government FTW!.....wait, no." Thats about it.

Do you believe in freedom (primarily in software) the was the FSF believes in it?
I believe that everyone has the right to distribute their software/source freely and openly. They also have the right to lock it down tight and charge thousands if they so choose. It's really up to the individual, and that is the beauty of independent and fly-by-night development. Of course employees are subject to the wishes of their employers, but that is another story.

What other non-computer hobbies do you have?
Well... I really like to sleep. Honestly though... not many. I do other things, but I don't really enjoy them as much as I do my computer stuffs. So I wouldn't call them hobbies. I mean, reading isn't a hobby, right? I read more on the computer than I do from books.

Do you have any opinions on Windows Vista?
Useless. Pointless. XP++. ++$$ that is. I will admit that I like XP. There are problems with it, sure, but it's workable and simple. Vista is just alot of frosting on a cake that needed other work.

Do you watch TV at all? If so do you have a favorite movie or TV show?
I watch Prison Break every week, and I watch Jericho when I'm bored. (DVR is cool.) Favorite TV show is certainly Prison Break, favorite movie.... maybe 300. I can't decide anymore.

Hey I don't want pick on anything but it bothers me that there was no question about faith? Because I don't know you crazyishone and would be interested to know if you believe in Jesus?

LOL, the sleep part on the hobbies question was priceless.

Good interview, though a tad short.

The only people who like Vista and hate XP are the ones that live in these kind of houses:

(That's an insane asylum, btw...)

Does the .30 cal have a cell broadband engine?
No...but it's multi-platform and has an easy to use point and click interface.

Jari and those concerned: I believe certain things, but my primary belief renders all others inconsequential, so it really isn't worth discussing. Let it suffice that I am not a "Christian" by common definition.

i always looked at your nick as "crazy is hone".
Quite a few people do. Its a stupid name, I don't use it anymore. I just thought it would be weird to make a new account here.

About the asylum... I wouldn't mind living in a place like that. Scare the kids on Halloween.
