ok. i have a silicon image pci ide 133 raid controller card physically installed on my computer. the computer already has xp installed on it, and the hard drives on the card are recognized by the card(it shows up when i boot the computer), but here's the problem. i have to install drivers in windows xp in order for windows to be able to use the card. when i go to install the drivers(yes they're the correct and newest drivers), it will fill the percentage bar then stay there. i've let it stay there for well over an hour, so it's definately hitting a snag somewhere. i was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this, or if anyone has had this particular card on an xp computer and it working fine(with sp2). if so, then i'm going to assume i need to do a fresh install of xp and install the drivers during the start of the installation. any help would be appreciated. ------------------ proverbs 25:7 www.gfa.org - Gospel for Asia www.persecution.com - Voice of the Martyrs |

Using that exact card on this computer. . . Did you try to go under computer administrator disk management and add the drives that way. It may not be necessary to install the drivers unless you are building a RAID array with this card. |

they don't show up on it. did you install the drivers on a running copy of xp, or during the installation of xp? i'm thinking it's bug with the computer, or with the installation of xp on this computer. i might just have to re-install xp on it, or wait until i get another computer set up. ------------------ proverbs 25:7 www.gfa.org - Gospel for Asia www.persecution.com - Voice of the Martyrs |

Installed on a running version of XP. My secondary computer has been running the same XP install for about 5 years now. Added the raid card without problems. Do you have the right CD. Because if you install windows you will need to create the 3 1/4 floppy to install the drivers for the clean install to recognize it also. Unless you are having problems with your OS, a reinstall may NOT be the best solution in this instance. Hope I have been helpfull. If you are looking for full drivers, let me know and I'll try to find a way to get the ones I use to you |

i've tried the drivers on the cd, and i've d/l drivers from silicon image and i still get the same thing. i think i'm going to wait until i get my other computer set up before i do anything serious like reinstalling. i'm use to reinstalling a lot anyway, the past few months i've went through, built, swapped parts, and everything else one a few different computers due to new parts coming in, and old parts tearing up. i miss my ahtlon 3200+ . i'm stuck using a p((( 933 right now. ------------------ proverbs 25:7 www.gfa.org - Gospel for Asia www.persecution.com - Voice of the Martyrs |
