This is funny, I got this idea from a post @ http://www.christiancoders.com/cgi-bin/ubb-cgi/postdisplay.cgi?forum=Forum4&topic=000 453. What does Babelfish gave you when you translate English into a language, and translate the results in the other language back into English. You can get some pretty funny results. Why not post them here? quote:
English to Spanish to English Original statement: Code monkey likes you. Final result: Base the monkey has taste of you.
ROTFL! Gotta love algorithms.Oh, here's another! quote:
English to Spanish to English Original statement: Code monkey likes fritos. Final result: Base the fried monkey has taste of. EIDT: English to Spanish to English to Japaneese to English: Be based the taste which has the monkey which was fried!

Okay I needed a laugh. I took the first slashdot article, it happens to be about microsoft onecare quote:
A ZDNet reporter has gotten some truly amazing quotes out of a Microsoft product manager about the troubled OneCare product. Arno Edelmann, Microsoft's European business security product manager, was flagged down at this week's CeBit event, and had this to say about the service: 'Usually Microsoft doesn't develop products, we buy products. It's not a bad product, but bits and pieces are missing
translated english - russian - english It actually is more truthfull! quote:
Reporter ZDNet obtained some truly amazing quotes from menezhera on production microsoft about the troubled product OneCare. Arno Edelmann, menezher on the production the security of matter microsoft's European, was flagged downward at case of CeBit of this week, and had this, it was which necessary to speak about the maintenance: ' usually microsoft do not begin products, we buys products. This not will be poor product, but bits and pieces propavshi

Hahaha. That's rich! Here's a piece of Bible Dave code. English > Dutch > French > English. This is the original file:
# ------------------- # # Bible Dave Engine # # ------------------- # #-- Load imports --# try: import os, sys import pygame from pygame.locals import * from pygame import mixer from pygame.mixer import music #from music import Music from pgu import timer from pgu import engineexcept ImportError, err: print "Could not load module! Error message:" print err sys.exit(2) import base #from base import Testing from base import saveGame from base import loadGame import basegamelevel import menu from sound import DaveSound from base import initLevel, initCustomLevel from base import testLevelname class Main(engine.Game): def init(self): pygame.init() if '-t' in sys.argv: base.Testing = True else: base.Testing = False self.timer = timer.Timer(base.FPS) #Set the max FPS |
And here's the Babelfish corruption:
# # # the engine of Dave of bible # # # # - - tests the importation --# loading: the importation the bone, sys the importation pygame of the importation pygame.locals * of mixer of the pygameinvoer of pygame.mixer the music of importation # of the music of the importation of music of the tijdopnemer of the pguinvoer of the engine of the pguinvoer except ImportError, misleads me me: occupied "the load module could not! Opinion of error: " sys.exit (2) the importation bases # of the basic importation is very mistaken to test the basic importation saveGame importation of the basic importation loadGame basegamelevel enters the menu of the correct importation DaveSound of the basic importation initLevel, initCustomLevel of the basic importation testLevelname classes direction (pun): def init (itself): pygame.init() like ' - T ' in sys.argv: the base which = tests true differently: the base which = false tests self.timer = timer. Timer (FPS bases) |
(Man... that's just too funny) I couldn't keep track of where the next line would be so BabelPython will report a syntax error due to the fact that two lines have been put on the same line ------------------ All Your Base Are Belong To Us!!! chown -r us ./base "After three days without programming, life becomes meaningless.'' -- Tao of Programming Book 2 My Programming and Hacker/Geek related Blog |
