Hey guys, I'm posting this from the wii. So far I've found that the browser is opera-based, and works well with normal webpages. Flash seems to be supported, as I tested this with youtube and, hehe, nickjr.com. {most flash-heavy site I could think of, little bro loves it.} One issue I found is that atomfilms.com says I need flash player 8. I'm trying to figure out if java works... imagine the possibilities. Another thing I tried was using aim express to chat from within the browser. Unfortunately, its not supported. Any other web based aim clients you guys know of? ------------------ [This message has been edited by crazyishone (edited January 20, 2007).] |

Are you using a wii board or did you type all that with the mote? |

I typed it with the remote. It was pretty easy, actually. ------------------ |

you are supposed to be able to go to a independent website (www.wiicade.com) and play Wii-based flash games, however when I went there on my Wii it kept glitching, I think it is related to the Wii not having the latest flash--and I haven't tried it in a while so Wiicade may have fixed everything by now---BTW they (Nintendo) are doing special versions of Line Rider for both the Wii and DS. ------------------ |

Yeah I had a few problems while using the browser, namely Gamedev.net would load, but then the browser would kick back to the homepage. I also already mentioned the fact that atomfilms said I needed a newer version of flash. One last point, java does not seem to work. Something everyone may want to keep in mind: once the final version of the browser comes out, flash support will be consistent. Perhaps, like with wiicade, somebody here can take advantage of the chance to work with the controller without having to program for the hardware. ------------------ [This message has been edited by crazyishone (edited January 21, 2007).] |

Thanks buddboy. I was thinking a bit more about using the wii remote in flash games, and while you obviously can't harness the full power of it, it does work like a mouse. So even those "shoot the duck and win an xbox 360" banner ads would be kinda fun on the wii. So, sure, there's no programming the next ultra-awesome game that takes advantage of the accelerometer tech, but there is still alot of potential there. ------------------ |

Wow! I didn't know you could type on it. Another reason to get it. What about those "Shoot the Duck and win a Wii" on your Wii? lol ------------------ |
