I'm interested in seeing what Video games you would want get in the near and very near future (like Christmas). The games can be for anything, console, computer, board games, etc.

Here's what I would get if I got a Wii:
FarCry: Vengance
Call of Duty 3
Need For Speed Carbon
Splinter Cell: Double Agent
Mario Galaxy
Excite Truck
Rayman: Raving Rabbids
Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam

Older Games (before Wii but that can run on Wii)
Destruction Derby
Battle Tanx
Some older Mario games

For Computer:
Maybe Half Life 2: Episode 1 and 2

Boardgames:
Haven't seen any new ones that have caught my attention.

For the Wii (which I want, but my wife says I don't play my PS2, XBOX or XBOX 360 enough to justify buying another console) I'd get:

FarCry: Vengance
Call of Duty 3
Mario Galaxy
Excite Truck

I'd rent Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam just to see if it's any good before buying it.

For computer, I've looked at HL2 EP1 & 2 several times, but I can't bring myself to buy it without a hardware upgrade.

For boardgames, you should check out Zombies!!! (with 5 expansion packs!)
It's great fun for parties and the board game changes every game since it's made of tiles that each player places during their turn. The basic premise of the game is you're stuck in the middle of a town/mall/military base/school/woods (depending on which expansion, or any, that you use) and you have to get to the helipad (the last board tile that is placed). Along the way you can pick up weapons (shotgun, chainsaw, skateboard, flamethrower, etc) and battle your way through the area. If somehow the streets get blocked off (can happen due to the ways the tiles are stacked, you can end up making one big looping square, with no place to put the helipad) the first player with 25 kills wins.

It's real fun!!

I'm wanting to get my kids Zoo Tycoon 2 and expansions, but I can't see spending $65-ish to get it all. They have already spent many hours playing the demos and I really enjoy sitting and playing it with them. I know it is something which will certainly get lots of playtime.

Oh, yes. I was researching GT: Pro Series... don't get it. It has graphics that are worse or maybe on par with Need For Speed III: Hot Pursuit.

RedSteel, Call of Duty 3, Heavenly Sword, and some others.

Theres quite a bit of good looking junk out there.

SSquared, I think those games are definitely worth the money. Like you said, there is alot of playtime.

I just had a great idea. RTS games on the Wii! You can use the Wiimote like the mouse and the nunchuck for stuff you'd normally use keyboard for. I'd like to see Command and Conquer: Generals and StarCraft on the Wii.

finally a console that could actually handle games that are best on the pc, that would be great cpufreak. you could actually play a pc based rpg, the nunchuck would act like a mouse. i've only played the demo to starcraft. a friend of mine has the full game, but his is a "free" copy, so i haven't borrowed it. it'll prob'ly be at least a year before i get a wii. but that's ok, because any games i by from now until i get one will work with it(that's great ).
