quote: quote: [img]So not to take the FoH thread further off topic as it already is going like with the DX10 debaters and all that... here are those pics I was speaking of, I got permission to post them so here they are. There should be some shader pics coming out soon and was given advanced permission to post those once ready as well. These simply show the anti-aliasing comparing the new engine to the existing one. As you can see, in the RC2 screenshot, the jaggys have been smoothed out by the new engine. |

Yeaaah, it's a pretty big difference. It seems fairly accurate on the dx7 shot, I can make it look pretty poor if I drop screen resolution or mess with other things, but that looks pretty close. Only thing I mentioned about in the RC forums was that the lighting was from a different angle. Anyway, I've been told that there are some more pcs coming soon so we'll get to see how it looks before any info gets publicly released. Btw, for those that may have not heard, they are going to be releasing a stand alone version of this as well. In other words, you can make regular 3D RPG's that do not require an mmorpg server to play (fully stand-alone). I'm guessing there will be BlitzBasic source code output for that as well but I'm not sure yet. This is not the mmorpg maker, it will be a totally different product but based on the same engines(as RC2), code base, scripting language and so forth. |
