Hey, I have a linkysys wrt54g router, and it obviously isnt working. All the lights are blinking, and the Diagnostic light is staying on. Anyone familiar with this issue?

Man, routers are a pain. I've known four of them in my short life and they all had problems. Big problems.

Have you tried resetting it? Or just turning it off and then on again?

I have the same router, have had the exact same problems. Flakier than a box of wheaties. Either you need to reset, or update the firmware.

I do maintence on this one woman's computer at my church and the number one problem with her wireless network is the wireless router. usually, a reset fixes it. off, wait about half a minute, then on again.

No, I tried all that. We had to go buy a new one. Resetting, unplugging, leaving it for long periods of time that way, didnt work.

I think somebody I knew tried to execute a buffer overflow exploit and corrupted the firmware. I couldn't even update the firmware because my PC wouldn't recognize the LAN connection now. Oh well.

Look at you tryin' to be all nerdy with your reasons for the messed up router when it was really your little brother who poured jelly inside the lan ports on the back and caused it to stop working. I told you man "no jelly in the routers and no cheese slices in the A drive"...

tell me if I'm wrong, tho, but doesn't cisco make bigger switches and stuff, like for companies?

I have a switch by netgear( it think.. looks like a netgear box, but it has no name on it. haha. been too long to remember).
anyhow, that switch works pretty well. as of now, it's hanging behind the desk held up by the cables.
