UGHH, this laptop screws up all the time (it's the school's fault, not mine; they have very poor images). i just uninstalled vb6 because it was messed up (again, the school's fault) and now when i open IE, it tries to download the page. does anyone have a fix for this? i don't use IE normally, but some programs automatically open IE pages and now it's messed up |

Uninstall IE > download IE 6 (or beta 7) from the microsoft website > install. I find that often the easiest way to fix problems in windows is to "start over". Something not working, restart computer. Still not working? Reinstall the program. Sure there are "easier" ways of fixing problems, but that requires you to know a)exactly what is wrong, b)how to fix it. Often that can take longer than you have the time for. ------------------ |

ugh, i removed IE and tried putting it back and now it's even worse. it opens a window and immediately shuts it down i'm going to have to reimage which is a HORRIBLE hastle. update: i tried removing it with the windows component screen. however you can't really COMPLETELY remove the code, just access to it. so i had to go into the registry and tell windows that IE6 wasn't installed. i figured it would let me install IE6 again. but no dice, so now i'm half way through getting IE7 beta . hopefully it will give me SOME functionality if only microsoft would start using firefox.... lol, the only way they would do that is if they bought it, and then they would modify it and make it suck =D. ------------------ |
