I'm working on a RPM for Bible Dave (which I also plan to convert into a .deb for you (K)Ubuntu people) and I (I say this *very* ashamedly) removed all instances of Bible Dave info because I was afraid people wouldn't help me if they learned what kind of project it was. (Don't argure with my logic in putting the game on SF.net, now ok? ) Well, what really encouraged me and brought me closer to God was the great help this one person did. He explained things I couldn't learn from any Google search results so far and even went as far as to create a .spec file for me (which doesn't work entirely yet, but is light years away from where I started). God moves in strange ways doesn't he? ------------------

Its kinda sad that we do those things just because we want the rest of the world to like us more or help us out. I still do that sometimes (not nearly as much as i used to) but then i stop and think; what can they do to me? If they turn you down because you follow Christ then thats your gain and their loss. God will provide whatever you need, just make sure to ask him. |

I agree that it is unfortunate that we live in a day and age where one feels that they should hide the fact that they are Christian (but if your muslim, then you'd get a lawsuit if you even thought that you felt like that =0 ). ------------------ |

well yeah, thats just it. generally we don't think that we do it, and most of the time we don't (for some people, not all ). its those times where we slip because we weren't watching what we were doing/thinking. i do the same thing, i'm always about going against the stream but for some reason i get into positions where i deny Jesus. Its like history will always repeat itself so all you can do is try to keep yours and other peoples' mistakes in mind so you don't screw up next time. |

I dont want people to know that I'm Christian either if I'm looking for help in some thing. But I just thought that you could always try to witness as "reward" for the help. "Thanks for the help man! Hey have you heard the good news yet?" ------------------ [VoHW] (Help needed) [Blog] - Truedisciple (mp3) |

well on the flip-side, letting them know that you're christian might be a bonus. If they're christian as well then you can tell them about CCN. if they're not, then generally they'll have some general opinion of christians (usually not good) which you can enlighten them on, or even answer questions about. A lot of people i know are just ignorant of christianity and are fed a load of garbage from the general media and similar groups(news, movies, music, etc). So sometimes its good to just talk in a nonintrusive manner to those people. They are sinners just like us after all. |

quote: There's a principle of attracting the person rather than pushing toward the person. There's a place for preaching and then there's a place for simply being a friend or acquantance. Launching into a preaching mode right after a passing interaction seems way too pushy. If they are open to it, great; but if they aren't you might make it more difficult for them to be open to someone else presenting the message later. I know I have a lot to learn about the line...we need to be vocal but at the same time we shouldn't be obnoxious. |

Whenever I meet someone new, on the internet from like say a forum or in person from like say school. I always I ask them what their religion or belief system. So then after I ask them I tell them mine if they don't ask back. That way if they don't like the fact I am a Christian and stop hanging around, I don't get too attached to them. And also so that way I make sure that God is number one in all of my friendships. ------------------ |
