"TechTV" was bought by Comcast, who came up with the G4TechTV thing, which then just became G4 in America. Its G4TechTV in canada, so you can still catch some of the shows like Call for Help if you live up there. Anyway, since it became G4-ized, it's turned into a spike-tv clone. It isn't about tech at all anymore, and this spring they actually announced they would be shifting more focus away from technology, especially on Attack of the Show. Sooo, no it will become even more mindless. I say, forget it. G4 is lame (imo), and the whole reason Comcast bought TechTV was because it was doing well, and it was the only TV channel for the "target audience" (geek types, etc.) . Then they screwed with the formula....smart eh? ------------------ |

I dont like G4 I never liked G4 I see no point in watching 2 teams playing video games, or gaming reviewers talking about sex and violence. ------------------ |

Agreed, and nor do we need any stupid shows that have something to do with reproduction and technology, which is stupid... beyond... any belief... it truely is analogous to Spike, but it has a sick tint of comedy central in it... its just a sick channel nowadays. I really miss Future Fighting Machines... ------------------ |

I listen to tWiT all the time now. (this week in tech). There is also "This week in Media", "Security Now!", and some others. The cohost from Call for Help is on This week in Media, as well as her own "Inside the Internet". (amber ...something. forgot her last name.) ------------------ |

Hey nothing wrong with 2 TNG episodes in the morning on spike and then 2 on G4 around 5 and 6 and then another episode at night on G4, lol. But seriously spike is useless and so is this new G4, aside TNG. Which I would prefer my favorite shows back on G4, even if they replaced TNG, which I can always watch on DVD. Actually I heard G4 was a separate station beforehand and then Comcast replaced TechTV with it when it was bought. I could be wrong. I found this interesting on Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G4_%28TV_channel%29 Screensavers did rock, it was funny and smart. I thought Extended Play was awesome too, until they made it all modern called it X-Play and had that co-host, it reduced Adam Saddler to less than his full potential IMO, he had hilarious comments about the games he reviewed in the previous show, and it was intelligent at the same time. Another show I miss to death is Robot Wars, I knew it was too good to last .

I find quite a few episodes of tWiT by searching through the SHOUTcast Wire list in Winamp. Also, every episode is available on the twit.tv page. thats what all the numbers are. :-p ------------------ [This message has been edited by crazyishone (edited June 13, 2006).] |
