The main character 'Axys' goes on Adventures, though the initial name of the game was called Access Phenomenon, referring to the phenomenon experienced when we give God access to our hearts...

Wow... Awesome trailer. Great idea with the whole letters to spell a biblical name!! Looks pretty sweet!! Are you going to release this in Australia and US? Have you guys got a release date??

I PM'd you a little bit ago, don't know if you've read it yet, and if you have I might have missed the reply as all my new emails go into my junk mail folder...

Cactus Games have taken on Axys and are our publisher, our most hopeful, perhaps a little unrealistic release date is July this year, the latest very latest date it will be released is early September. Cactus ships to the USA, UK, Australia and New Zealand Christian book stores. We'll self publish into the secular market...

Oh and yeah :P I was playing Mario Sunshine, Delfino Plaza as I was doing some of the level design

question: Considering this is a console-ish platform type game have you implemented support for the Xbox360 controller for windows via XInput?

I've personally been using this app:

http://www.pinnaclegameprofiler.com/

But native support is usually better:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/directx9_c/dx9_xinput_xinput_dinput.asp

Biggest restrictions to console with 3D Game Studio atm are:

quote:

For example (all numbers and facts that follow are subject to change, they are here only to give you a rough idea on what it would take), we have estimated that an XBox port would require ~$100,000 dollars to produce, plus the cost to buy or rent the development hardware. We are currently willing to finance half that cost, so you would need to come up with $50,000 and provide us with a development system for the duration of the project. You would also need to contact Microsoft and negotiate a deal with them to become developers. Microsoft, like all the console manufactures, has complete control over who has access to development systems for their console. If you can convince Microsoft and come up with the money, we can begin work.

If the game sells well enough, them I'm sure it can get onto console. The game is a high quality indie game, low quality commercial game. It's all a matter of waiting and seeing how it goes.

I don't want a free copy, I want to support developers.

I believe what Gump means is support for the Xbox 360 controller for Windows not porting the game to Xbox 360 (although that would be awesome). I know Microsoft is pushing support for it in Windows games and I think it's a prerequist to getting the "Games for Windows" authorization/logo.

Okay this is kinda a big announcment, you can now purchase the game through Rebel Planet's website:

http://www.rebelplanetcreations.com/

I'm kinda holding off going round everywhere and telling everyone they can buy it until we've got a demo to show.

David forced... err... I mean asked if I could say just how awesome it is...

On a scale of 1 to 10, this is like a 5... I could have gone with the whole corny "Oh it's like a 100!!! yeah totally rock on!!! woooo" but decided for the honest truth.

From the Beta, it has rather decent graphics. I was surprised at the detail. Then when you start moving through the game you find new challenges. There are some of the same puzzles, but they get bigger and more challenging, and there are new ones which come along :| (when you least expect it...).

The best thing is it has a good and strong christian message. It is challenging, definately challenging, though I'm pretty sure David's fixed that (he made it even more challening jk), so that should be good

I would have found it more fun if I was a bit younger (I'm 20 btw). I do like developing 3rd person platformers, and there is definately a lot of work put into this from David and the RPC team. I recon this is definately a great Christian game, with good gameplay, graphics and music.

72 hours!!! hehe... Footsteps :| that rocks...

Quote from RPC site "Over 20 hours game-play"... I can vouch for that! lol

ACE is considering setting up a digital distribution system kind of like Steam; would you be interested in that? Also, have you tried contacting Valve about releasing your title via Steam? They appear to be opening up Steam to other developers a lot more recently.

Looks like a fun game, sword swinging but not brutal violence. I watched the video but is there no demo though?

steam is terrible. why should you have to log on the web for a single player game? I have dsl, so it's not a problem, but I have friends who specifically stay away from it because of their dial-up.
the one flaw of half-life 2, imo.

although, to be honest, getting it on steam, would be good for getting it out...

Actually, you can play SP games on Steam without being online. The major benefits to releasing via Steam is (1) "free" marketing in the form of several million gamers noticing the game's release and (2) higher profit per unit sale.

If you have a XBox 360 Controller try using this joystick profile I made for Axys:

http://www.gameace.org/~common/Demos/Axys.pin

http://www.gameace.org/~common/Demos/pinnacle-setup.exe

Works great. Also allows my carpal tunnel aching hands to play Axys without using a M&K!

Not in the demo, in the main game you do this through beating the boss, alternatively you could pull the power cord of your pc out of it's socket

I tried the power cord thing, but the laptop battery started in.

I'm into the blue diamonds. I haven't found any secret areas yet.
