I am downloading America's Army right now, and I have been thinking a bit. Would anybody be interested in starting up a "ccn clan" or something? A bunch of us are always talking tactics and guns, etc... why not work together in a medium where we can actually execute these schemes of ours. :-P ------------------ |

Ok, cool. Some interest. I'm thinking I'll try to be a sniper... (For those of you in the unawares, you cant just pick what you want to be in AA. You have to go through all sorts of training and whatnot... its very realistic simulation of how things are done.) If we can get enough people interested here on CCN, we should organize times to play and such. EDIT: It occurred that some might not want an FPS "clan" to be associated with CCN, so maybe we should come up with a different name or something. (And just have guys from CCN). Possible Names (The following names are bound to be very corny and lame. I suck at thinking these things up. Buddboy or RM... heres' your cue): ChristianSoldiers? Omega's Army? MartyrClan? ehhh...help me. haha -Crazy ------------------ [This message has been edited by crazyishone (edited April 08, 2006).] |

I was downloading it till the download stopped, at 127 mb I think. It was going slow anyway, I think I will try it later. Just so you guys know it's almost a giga byte to download, at least for me it was. ------------------ |

Lava, you'll want to get a download manager, definately. DownThemAll extension for firefox is recommended by Firemaker, and I use TrueDownloader.(standalone app). I would recommend you google TrueDownloader and use it. The America's Army download takes about 5-6 hours for me (its like 830 MB). Its worth it though. ------------------ [This message has been edited by crazyishone (edited April 08, 2006).] |

Do you know if you have the AA for Xbox 360... can you play with people from the PC? The reason I ask is that the Final Fantasy game that is coming out for the 360 is the same world as the PC's, and every other platform, 'cause if so I can get AA in a couple of weeks when I get my 360. IF not you gotta count me outta this one... dumb computer... ------------------ |

I think you'll have to play with X-Box live members. Plus, the america's army coming out for the consoles is different. Theres a story and campaign mode and all the shnazz. "America's Army- Rise of a Soldier". Looks very cool, and you can get it for the current gen XBOX, and within a couple weeks or months it will be out for PS2. ------------------ |

haha, man, you don't have to do the medic training. Its boring. Just go to deployment, and you can play online. THe more training you do, the more you can do online. Do your special forces training if you want the cool weapons and scenarios. Also get qualified as a marksman. ------------------ |

Sure, I'm game. I've played it a little back in '04 but couldn't manage to understand how lag effects my aim. Big frustration. I'll give it another shot though if you guys'll be there. A negative on joining the clan though. I'm already with a great Star Wars Battlefront clan but they don't allow members to be in multiple clans. I'd love to hang out with you guys though . That game is so realistic though. You get to walk through the halls of a hospital when studying to be a medic, and I saw this radio on top of a fridgerator and you could actually change radio stations on it. yeah, and the maps are the most realistic i've come across. I'm not tlaking about graphics detail, rather just what you find. I was in a shootout yesterday where I was hiding behind a washing machine in a landraumat, and the enemy was in a bus out on the street. :-p ------------------ |

Ah yes, teamspeak. Ok, so here's the deal- once everybody gets up and runnging, we'll start "organizing". But I have been taking time to familiarize myself, and stop sucking so bad. Slowly getting better. Oh, and Ashton_JX- How will your clan know if you are playing for another clan if the games are different? ------------------ |

Tale of iron woe- Having windows installed only on my small 15gig hd, I had to make room for america's army. In doing so i got rid of my anti-virus programs, firewall, firefox, etc. I figured "no big deal, i'll only be playing WoW and AA." Well, i was being too lazy to reboot into linux, so I was browsing the internet in IE. Within a few minutes my computer had been taken over by something nasty. You know when you see people on commercials getting a computer virus. they kind of flip out and "Oh My God! Holy Crap! OH no, no no no no!" For me it was more of a "ughhhhhhhh". Kindof like "should've seen that coming". Anyway, after using my linux installation to rescue the Americas Army installer I was happy. But i wasnt careful, and i went right to installing windows. Well, then i couldn't get back into my kubuntu installation. Tried using Knoppix to reinstall grub, but i must've been doing something wrong. Anyway, I've get a hard day ahead of me. Let this be a warning to all of ye still using Internet Explorer unprotected. Stray too far from large commercial websites and you'll become the victim of angry teens who think making worms/viruses takes skill. ------------------ |

i only use ie when firefox won't work(windows update, etc.). i've been playing aa some, and i still suck so bad. i'm just now starting to play something besides 'bridge crossing' . ...and i still haven't finished the last special forces training thing, i can be in a thicket of trees slow-crawling and still get spotted, whatever... ------------------ proverbs 25:7 www.gfa.org - Gospel for Asia www.persecution.com - Voice of the Martyrs |

i havn't finished the last special forces training either. I suck too. This game is not easy, but heres the thing- I played for about 10 hours last saturday, and only got (5?) kills. But each one was satisfying enough to keep me playing. Hehe ------------------ |
bennythebear Member Posts: 1225 From: kentucky,usa Registered: 12-13-2003 |
that's about my track record. i have a whopping 11 honor. if i had a friend who could finish the training for me i'd go for it. the only level i'm ok at is the bridge crossing, and bridge crossing se(using the valley underneath the bridge to get across ). ------------------ proverbs 25:7 www.gfa.org - Gospel for Asia www.persecution.com - Voice of the Martyrs |

I've got 16 honor and can get about 7-10 kills per round on a decent day, its just a matter of working on it, it also helps if you have some buddies to voice chat with, makes it more fun too. ------------------ "I am very good at hiding, so if you don't see me, that's where I am." I'm playing today, but taking a half hour-45 minute break right now. If any of you read this within then, we should play. I have 13, almost 14, honor. I like extraction and the airstrip one. I'm having a tough time with the Special Forces E and E training mission. :-/ ------------------ |

I just downloaded the game yesterday and it's awesome, I totally agree with Crazyishone, some of the most realisitc graphics. And I finished the basic training. I hope we can get a clan together still. And if anyone plays Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, I am on there alot, you can join this clan me and this guy started. ------------------ |

I used to play that game heaps, got to honor level 40. You guys got any ownage stories? This one time on sf_hospital I was playing assult (eliminate the VIP), I was using the AR and I was playing on an american server (ping 200-400) which really sucks I tell ya. Anyway I used the run cheat, where you hold alt before spawning and you begin sprinting straight away (they have since removed that cheat), I ran through the hospital lucky not to have run into any of the terrorists. I approached the hallway which leads to the front doors (first floor), as I turned on my left were 2 enemies and on my right were another 2 enemies along with the VIP. They were ALL facing the exit, mwahaha, it was so scary because usually if you enter a room full of 5 enemies you're lucky to take down 2 before being taken down yourself. Perhaps lag was on my side, but I took down the first guy on the left, took down the second guy on the left as he was just about to open fire on me, turned right, the vip and the other 2 were facing me now, made it my first priority to take out the vip, took him out quick enough, now at this moment both of the remaining 2 were firing at me, perhaps it was lag, or cause I was constantly bobbing (ducking then getting up again), or bunny hopping (which doesnt' work well for very long in AA). As after the VIP gets killed there is 10 seconds of game play left, but in those 10 seconds I just got head shots whilst dodging those 2 guys. I took down 5 guys in 1 room and it was fun I immediately got kicked, the admin must have thought I was cheating :P Oh and I love pipeline, I loved refineing my technique up on the roof (inside on defence), I'd camp it really well, and learnt how to toss a nade down to primary and get it to explode as it landed. That way I could guard cp and primary at the same time, downside is that I only had 1 nade. But it's fun to hear them turning the valve and tossing a nade down to win the round, if you don't time it right some people run away before it explodes. And I hate having to jump down to the basement to try and stop primary as it's so easy to die let alone try and survive to red health. |

quote: Aye yaddie, I have found any first person shooter to be like that, like MOH, they got a team match, well I get killed more just by my teammates blocking my way to kill the enemy causing me to get killed then I do versus someone 1 vs 1. Battlefield is even worse, mainly because it's a team-based game to begin with, and it's totally vital to have victory if you all work together. Everyone's motto is every man for himself, that's why I like MOH of most of the FPS's, it's more single player oriented and they have the free-for-all matches, which is awesome, no ganging up, no interference from team mates. ------------------ [This message has been edited by lava (edited July 14, 2006).] |
