Let's say you have only a 1 gig pc and you are looking for the best FPS game to play online with your family and friends, what would you go with? Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, would Halo even work? I got a kick out of the objective rounds in Medal of Honor, but I hear there is a lot of cheeting problems with it online.

Anyway, wanted to know what people here thought about it all.

Call of Duty 2 runs on a 1.4 gigahertz.
If you're concerned about cheating, Call of Duty 1, UO, or 2 would be the best.

There's also Half Life 1 (I love half life 1)

Battlefield 1942, great game, older (released in 2002) so it should run on most PCs

Battlefield is like Medal of Honor but with vehicles. You got snipers, grenades, machine guns, alot of the same weapons MOH has.

Well, you can use almost any tactic you want to defeat the other team, capture their bases and protect your own. My favorite is getting a team of engineers to lay mines and booby trap vehicles (Except our LAN parties are 2vs2 so the "team" is quite small).

I just talked to my brother and he said COD is basicly a lot of wide open spaces. I don't think we would be into that. I'm a sneeking through buildings sort of person.

Now you would think a 2.6 GHz 256RAM pc could run wolfinstine, but no. It loads, plays for about two minuts, then lock! I don't like that game. Glad I only downloaded the ET version. Anyhoot, it looks like the Medal of Honor War Chess set is on the way here and to me fam. So that settles that. I'm still trying to figure out XFire though.

Yeah so, I'm just back to say thanks to those who put their two cents in.
--Thanks.

CoD is a great game for LANs. I never like Medal of Honor much, I'm sorry but CoD just pounds it. Its not a lot of open empty spaces, there is a good veriety of maps.

Battlefeild sux, its all wide open maps that are huge and so empty that its pointless. I would prefer a map that is 1/4 of the size and has 4 times as much detail and objects in it. So I would NOT sugest BF. Halo is a great game, we have been playing the Halo games since they were released and are insanely good at them. We play Halo on Xbox though, so I wouldn't get Halo PC seing as its kind of old and might be hard to find good online games. So yah my sugestion is CoD or CoD 2. My 2 Jeff
