QBASIC Frustration – buddboy

buddboy Member Posts: 2220 From: New Albany, Indiana, U.S. Registered: 10-08-2004	I need to vent... my QBASIC compiler is being stupid... does anyone see anything wrong with this? LET open$ = open It keeps finding a syntax error with that. It's crucial because i need to store my input in it. No matter what i put, like not declare it, not even have it and just put the variable after the input statement, it won't work! lol... it makes me mad... lol, if anyone thinks they could compile the code for me that would be great... i don't know why BASIC code will never work for me, first BlitzBASIC, now QBASIC... BTW, don't ask why i'm coding in QBASIC...it's just easier to do what I'm doing in QBASIC, plus i was bored.. ------------------ In the stock market, you must buy high and sell low...Wait! That's not right! -------------- Yes, I can be intelligent at times!!

LET open$ = "open" In PRINT, LET or any other assigning of strings you have to put the text in quotations on both sides. And there's nothing wrong with Qbasic, its a good language, and the one I started in myself, if you have any more question please don't hesitate to PM me. Ereon ------------------
