i am crying inside,
about to fall apart,
i look away for my shame,
and the emptiness in my heart,

i started off on fire,
but now i'm growing cold,
what should i do?
lukewarm hurts, but i don't want cold,

change is necessary,
but what must i do,
can i really forsake it all,
can i really follow you?

i'm a cracked vessal,
leaking out what's left,
i've forgotten the feeling,
i've forgotten my gift,

i'm weakened by my doubt,
i'm addicted to my lust,
shake my life God,
break me if YOU must,

a chastizing sounds sweet,
just to feel your hand,
or to bow at your feet,
God please take my hand,

i know the road i'm on,
and i know my turns coming up,
but my hands are like steel,
and my focus is all messed up,

failure is my reputation,
and i'm buying the hype,
too lazy to fast, how sad is that?
i need help, my fruit is everything but right,

i know this is my last chance,
and all i have is YOU,
no one else knows, no one else will,
because all i have is YOU.

Nice poem. I sounds like it can go to the Creed -- Say I.
I don't know what it's message is though.

no message was intended. i just wrote what i was feeling at the time, then i feel stupid after writing it(i don't like expressing emotions). i guess you could say i view being sad as weak, and being emotional as stupid...this view only applies to me, i don't feel that way about anyone else, trust me...my wife is a very sensitive and emotional person, kind of my opposite.

A. very good poem, and even the most Zealos follower of God can begin to lose his Zeal, but the important part is that we keep praying and striving after him, no matter how feircely, you zest will eventually come back.

B. STOP SAYING OTHER PEOPLE ARE ME! IM GETTING TICKED OFF, IM ME, AND THATS ALL! *pant pant* there! But SEROIUSLY, i am getting ticked off, and i have no alter-cyber ego, so please STOP Saying stuff like that!

Ok, just had to be sure. I see it now. You seemed to have matured since I read your last post!

I've been thinking about the poem and I have saved it to my hard drive for reading later if this thread automagically disapears.

Thanx, and by the way thats the exact same way mine were writen. I had strong feelings and needed a way to express them I would just sit down and they would elapes onto the paper in the forum of words. They were not planed and didn't take a lot of thinking, they just became. Jeff

maybe i just need some skills . i guess it's just we just write different. i don't think i've ever wrote a truely happy poem, i prefer to live life and be with the people that make me happy when i'm happy...well, and i don't feel like writing when i'm getting blessed by God, too busy soaking it up .

we rape, murder, and destroy,
yet we claim to be the best,
we steal, lie, and fornicate,
yet we claim to be the best,

endurance is what i'm needing,
sin is making me grow hard,
a chastizing would be a blessing,
sin is making me grow hard,

Christ died for the worst,
yet i feel unworthy of His death,
You've already forgave me,
yet i feel unworthy of His death,

idleness fills all of my days,
growing dumb and numb,
i see the my potential in You,
growing dumb and numb,

i bind my hands and shut my mouth,
i refuse to do what i'm suppose to,
this flesh nausiates me,
i refuse to do what i'm suppose to,

i just want You to move in my life,
to feel that Spirit again,
i hope i'd do anything,
to feel that Spirit again,

i pray i don't waste it,
i hope i stand strong,
i pray i won't back down this time,
i hope i stand strong,

i let the devil get to me,
i've done everything but quit,
i've tried You're patience enough,
i've done everything but quit,

use me for Your glory Lord,
i must be Your's Lord, nothing else will do!
stir me up inside, please God i beg,
i must be Your's Lord, nothing else will do!

ok, done a little research on emo. one site had a song listed to sample entitled "wrist meet razor" ...sounds interesting, though not exactly my kind of music(lyrically). i do like the heavy stuff though, it's just hard to find real Christian music with that sound. gospel is for the peaceful times, heavy metal keeps me sane when everything is chaotic in my life. the lyrical content of what i listen to stay the same(Christian), but the sound and situation changes.

If this topic wants to shift to music I'm in! Any of you fools who live near me should come check out my band playing March 18th. $5 advanced, but wait none of you live near me and probably aren't big ska/funk fans.
But music you guys might actually enjoy:
DreamTheater (or Liquid Tension Experiment)
Stevie Wonder
Tower of Power

Just a few.

why do people listen to depressing songs? i tried listening to that one song my linkin park that goes "in the end nothing even matters...", you talk about depressed...that sucked bad... g/f dumps you, the song matches your situation, listening to what you "feel" isn't always a smart thing to do, but i guess humans have a tendancy to do what isn't too smart. of course, i'm one of the people that usually know the best thing to do in a situation but never does it ...that makes me a complete moron! yay for benny!!!(this spaz moment was in memory of rm and buddboy)

I'm part korean; it's in my blood to like sad songs, stories, etc. I rarely ever like a song that is happy. haha. sad songs are more emotional and heart wrenching; gives a more powerful emotional response. that and we like feeling sorry for ourselves.

I love depresing music Ha ha

Hey crazy you might like Circle of Dust, Argile Park and Klank (Christian)
and Celldweller (Secular) if you like Rammstein. Those groups are some of my favorites.

Also in the DJ arena check out Paul Van Dyk, BT, ATB, and Milk Inc.

Benny: Skillet and Johna33 are realy good bands. Let me know what other bands you like and I can give you a lot more great christian bands that are similar. Jeff

I do like Paul Van Dyke and ATB. I just havn't heard enough to mention them in my fav's.

If you like depressing songs that have a nice sound, Ohne Dich by Rammstein is a good one for that.

One of my favorite Rammstein songs is Mutter, which is kina low-key.

They have a ton of awesome songs that are more......not sad. :-)

I believe it was their drummer that said the following in an interview-
"If French is the language of love, then German is language of anger. This is perfect for metal."

Some Rammstein Fav's:::::
Feuer Frei
Benzin
Mutter
Ohne Dich
Mein Herz Brennt
Moskau
Amerika

I like Rammstien but they're stuff can get old very quickly. Mutter is a far better album then Reise Reise but both have their moments. System of a Down is becoming very mainstream and I never really enjoyed their stuff. The new album is horrible. I suggest checking out Deftone's new B side Rarities to many of you. Its a lot more layed back then their previous work. Lots of acoustic as well.

jeff, i like just about anything that's heavy. i don't like the stuff where they're yelling in a fake-deep voice and you can't understand a word they're saying, and i definately don't like the emo sounding stuff. a few random bands like off the top of my head are:

pillar, dc talk, jonah33, skillet, kutless, tobymac, and some other heavy rock, r&b, and rap.

just had to post this, i just wrote it, it really isn't that creative or anything, but i just wrote it, warning...it's a valentine's day poem...

my dream woman

my dream woman would be unique,
she would love me with a true love,
she would be there through this life,
my dream woman would be sent from above,

perfect is one thing she wouldn't be,
her imperfections would be what i loved,
those things that only the closest to her knew,
my imperfections would be what she loved,

passion wouldn't be lacking,
purity would be the mainstay of it all,
Godly love would keep us strong,
i wouldn't mind growing old with her at all,

she would be a loving mother,
i want her to be the opposite of me,
a big heart, wearing her emotions on her sleave,
all of this and more would my perfect woman be.

the end

...ok, now continue with the music discussion.

Cheesestorm, I have to agree System of a Down is becoming quite mainstream. I have really only listened to one of their albums, so I don't claim to be a die hard fan or any suchness.

Anybody here heard of Soilwork? I like that band quite a bit, but I only have their 2nd most recent album, figure number 5.
It's called death metal but it is a different take on it. You kinda have to hear it to know what I mean.

On the topic of music: I DESPISE music.
Well, ones with singers anyway. I like game music. I just don't understand how people could want an iPod nano over, let's say, Blitz3D, 2 great PC games, or even a whole game system.
Really. What's up with music?

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Sugar is sweet
So are you.

But the roses are wilting,
The violets are dead
The sugar bowl's empty
And so is your head.

This topic is "interesting",
and nothing rhymes with orange,
or so it seems,
How about "door hinge"

You need to say door hinge really faster though, ends up sound like "dorange"

gretchen's sound is great! zion is the only Christian song i seen(could just be me)? flyleaf rocks as well, they kind of remind me of kittie(i think that's it) that is when the lead singer is screaming. anberlin sounds cool, it's mellower than the other 2, but i like it. bleach was ok. 38th paralel i don't care much for. sky harbor was ok. but gretchen and flyeaf were freakin' awesome! nothing(music-wise) is greater to me than something that rocks hard, and rocks to God. thanks for telling me about those bands.

a little more detail...

the hex color thing is red, green, and blue, and the values are hexadecimal(duh, and i know very little about hex values).

so it's #rrggbb (r = red, g = green, b = blue)

*wonders what good a very broad and somewhat shallow pool of knowledge is good for*

we sell Christ to the public,
we call it "spreading the message",
but Christ never sold himself,
He gave himself for free to mankind cause He loved it,

Judas made a few silver off of Him,
but some of us "Christians" make millions,
we gripe because we don't have everything,
and we lust after each other by the millions,

lukewarm is a sick place to be,
torn up inside and going numb,
looking for light but all i see is vanity,
same old song, everything seems so fake,

we preach black and white and define the lines,
but we'll compromise when it benefits our lives,
this world does everything wrong and doesn't care,
it vexes my soul just to be human,

i can't stand looking at this world,
something's got to give, and give real soon,
when i see this world, i see everything i hate about being me,
pride, lust, envy, all the things this flesh desires,

to be dead is to be free,
my carnal mind keeps creeping up on me,
i don't want this life i'm living,
this sin is killing me,

no where to go, no one to see,
it's hard to stand here alone,
but i know God is still here,
and i will not quit devil, i will never quit!

ArchAngel, you're part Korean? I didn't know that! I'm all Korean. I didn't know that *that*'s why I like sad songs, stories, etc....oh, wait, except I mostly like happy stories. I do like a lot of sad depressing songs, though. Do you watch Korean movies? I've seen a few (The Present, Shiri, The Letter, the t.v. drama Piano). American tragedies don't even compare to wrenching Korean tragedies, imo. Man.
