I'm writing to say that this is by far one of the best Christian movies I've ever seen. Many movie critics claimed it had poor cinematography, stilted characters, etc...they're a lying brood of vipers attempting to keep people from seeing this movie with a powerful message. While I comprehend the difficulties of making a movie on a limited budget I don't give Christian movies a free pass just because they're Christian. This movie exceeded my expectations in all areas. I've heard that movie chains will stop showing it if it doesn't do well this week. Go out, take all your friends, and support this movie! Not to mention, half of all the proceeds will go to the missionaries.

I have read this story at some point. So long ago I can't remember, but it was good.

I think I saw an ad on tv recently for it...I think I will try to catch it. Its a very good story.

yes! this is the story of 'Through the Gates of Splendor'!! and i really want to see it!! sounds great... not long before it came out they were showing a documentary about the story, by the same name of that book you just mentioned, 'Through the Gates of Splendor'.... i think they made the documentary from the book.... and on every commercial break, they showed the commercial for this movie... sometimes more than once!! but i really really want to see it...

The level of "nudity" is actually more reserved than many issues of National Geographic. Also, this movie is based upon the real-life events and not a fictional book.

I never saw this movie, but I did hear that it wasn't Christian because it never presented the Gospel of Jesus Christ...like I said, I never saw the movie, just heard people talking about this... Thanks, Michelle

It presented the Gospel, just not in standard terminology. There is one scene where Jesus is explained to the Waodani using terms and concepts they could understand. Can't remember exactly how it was phrased, though.

well, Gump, under your recommendation, I'll probably have to watch it.

I watched it! the movie, except the tribal bottoms, it was great! I watched the commentary on the gates of splendor, and I think the movie was pritty close to the real event....
