GAH!! makes me mad... but the Seahawks are gonna win anyway!!!! lol.... i have a bet, of sorts... if Seahawks lose, cupcake in my face!! and the other way around for somebody here at the party lol.... see ya when the seahawks win!!! The final score of the game I saw was Seattle 17, Pittsburgh 14. I was not impressed with the game overall. I probably won't watch another "professional" game ever again. What a joke. [This message has been edited by nfektious (edited May 20, 2006).] |

I know what the actual score was, I was referring to the way the game was actually played IF the Ref's had done it right. |
Gamer4Christ Member Posts: 551 From: Kokomo, Indiana, USA Registered: 07-19-2005 |
Man, do you guys not know the rules of the game? The reffing was the best in the playoffs, and beyond that even if it wasn't the Steelers got just as many 'bad' calls as the Seahawks... but seriously if you are talking about that on catch that was out of bounds but everyone thought was a touchdown... you have to have both feet inbounds, even if you catch it in the endzone, and he only had one foot in, so technically it was an out of bounds catch. So even if you don't count the 'bad' calls the refs made the Steelers still would've won...ut seriously, you need to accept what happened, lol. I do not really remember much of the game at all, lol, except the Steelers gadget play, which are always memoriable, lol, but I don't remember anything because DR was over here, lol... we worked on our website... but anyway cya ------------------ Current Project: |
bennythebear Member Posts: 1225 From: kentucky,usa Registered: 12-13-2003 |
about my "cinderella/underdog" statement... if they've never won a superbowl, or even made it to one, then there's a reason for that. *thinks the seahawks vs. steelers game was as disapointing as the titans vs. packers game.* ------------------ proverbs 25:7 www.gfa.org - Gospel for Asia www.persecution.com - Voice of the Martyrs |
Brandon Member Posts: 594 From: Kansas City, Mo, USA Registered: 02-02-2004 |
Hey firemaker, we are looking forward to seeing that code snippet Just a reminder in case you've forgotten (Just joking!) But I must say the refs did make a few bad calls, most against the Seahawks. But also, the Seahawks seemed to panic too much in the pressure situations, at the end of the 1st half for instance. The Steelers made the big plays when they needed to though... Overall, I think it was a pretty exciting game, the climax of it being that trick play (those are so unfair, I just don't like them.) But after that play, it was prety much over with. But anyhow, we all know it's the Chiefs who'll be taking it next year ------------------ |
Gamer4Christ Member Posts: 551 From: Kokomo, Indiana, USA Registered: 07-19-2005 |
I LOVE those gadget plays.... Ben throws it to so and so, who throws it Randle El, and Randle El bombs it to Heath Miller... TOUCHDOWN!!!! Not a one of them have failed yet, lol. As far as the bad calls, lol... there is one that I saw that could have gone the other way, and that is the push-off call, where one of the seahawk players pushed off of a Steeler, the steeler did not fall, but he did do it... and the other 'questionable' calls were these, as far as I understand... the one where the seahawk player was out of bounds when he caught the ball, but everyone says he was in... remember you have to BOTH feet inbounds, even in the endzone. And there was the Roethlisberger touchdown... which the ball did break the plane, which is all it needed to do. In mid air the corner of the ball was over the line, which is a touchdown, even if it does come down and not touch the line. As far as the ref on that one... those guys are under microscope during the Super Bowl... he had to make the right call, so yeah he had a moment of indecisiveness, but notice that when it was challenged he did make the right call. So I think are the only 'bad' calls I have heard about so far, lol... are there more? ------------------ Current Project: |
buddboy Member Posts: 2220 From: New Albany, Indiana, U.S. Registered: 10-08-2004 |
what touchdown are you talking about where it was out of bounds? i think you are thinking of the one where the seahawks broke the plane and they said it was out of bounds... and yes that was a bad call when he pushed off!! how do you interfere with YOURSELF?! they called pass interference on HIM! and also, Jeremy Stevens caught the ball on the 2 yard line, and they called a holding penalty that didn't even exist!! the guy blew right past him!! and there were a BUNCH of times that they DIDN'T call against the steelers!! that was a touchdown when Roethlisberger went down at the line... but the seahawks still would have won if they had called it right! ------------------ |
Gamer4Christ Member Posts: 551 From: Kokomo, Indiana, USA Registered: 07-19-2005 |
lol... First off, again... even in the endzone you have to have both feet inbounds to not get called out, when you catch it... the only way you can go out of bounds without touching the endzone and still get a touchdown is if you were already inbounds... as far as the breaking the plane, I know he did, and if he had not gone out of bounds the score would have been a little closer.. And the pass intereference call on the offense was a just call, you are not allowed to push off the defender, he did not interfere with himself he interefered with the defender, which does not happen all that much, but you cannot just push him away and not have any chance of playing the ball, and if he had not done it RIGHT in front of the ref it would not have been called, but the ref was right there, lol. The holding penalty was not on screen, at least not the main part they showed, my dad said that he saw a holding that was not a major part of the play, like it was not with a WR, or whatever... but it was still holding. The game was fairly officiated, and even if the calls that you are complaining about did not get called the SeaHawks still would've lost 21 to 17, or at most 21 to 18 (depending on if it was a 2 point conversion or not) only because of the fact that the kicker shanked one of the field goal attempts. But anyway, the super bowl is over, the Steelers won, which they deserved from all of the bad-rep people have been giving them, lol... ESPECIALLY in Indiana. I think most people's problem with the game was that it was a sixth seed team that won... lol... but anyway, not trying to start anything, so nobody argue, lol... discuss but not argue, lol... the SeaHawks are a great team. I was just stating my opinion of what I saw, so anyway... lol. ------------------ Current Project: |
buddboy Member Posts: 2220 From: New Albany, Indiana, U.S. Registered: 10-08-2004 |
