well, now that i have xp installed i was able to run pcmark05. here's my stock system: pentium 4 2.0ghz 512kb cache@ 2.0ghz ok...now here's the stats and results for my overclocked set up: pentium 4 2.0ghz 512kb cache@ 2.8ghz (40%) so, has anyone else ran pcmark05 on their computer yet? i think my pcmark score increased around 30%, so i know for sure that 40% overclocking doesn't mean 40% performance gain. i'd like to get a 2.8 with 1mb of cache and a geforce 6200 and try them out...i wonder how my cpu overclocked to 2.8 would comare with a 2.8. my dad's laptop got over a 2800 pcmark05 score...he's got 1gb of ddr533, 2ghz pentium m, and geforce 6800 go graphics...anywho...anyone else interested in all this stuff? ------------------ proverbs 25:7 www.gfa.org - Gospel for Asia www.persecution.com - Voice of the Martyrs |

I got 2854 on my laptop. Is that good? I didn't want to create an account to compare on their site. I also didn't try it on my desktop computers yet. ------------------ |

ideally i'd get an mp3 player or other music player (cough...iPod...cough)...that u can store files on. I might get an iPod Nano. *ducks and covers....puts on flame-retardent suit* lol. ------------------ |

I have an iPod nano. Its sweet (and I'm a BIG mac guy ). Just one suggestion get a skin for it when you get one, they scratch rather easily (more so than other iPods). But their incredibly small physical size is well worth it. Jeff------------------ |

i like the nano. im glad it replaced the mini. its alot sleeker, and serves the same purpose. For some reason I dont like the shuffle....mostly because it doesnt have a display.. ------------------ |

Yah, I like having the screen, and the fact its flash based makes me more confident of its life-span. Jeff ------------------ |

Yeah, but I'd rather have a PSP, and a 1 gig memory stick (moneywise, PSP = Ipod nano) 1 gig memory stick duo (or pro duo) $70 ------------------ |

well, i suppose with fingolfin's perspective.... u get the benefit of playing games. I prefer to have things very small, but still functional. Hence..i want tha nano. But a flash drive is the next best thing in my mind. Floppies are dead technology and have been for like 4 years, esp. in the last 2 years, since flash drives became affordable to the average consumer. ------------------ |
