we windows users call it "google a program to do what microsoft can't" anything usefull on a windows user's computer is probably not developed by microsoft. except word. word is good....maybe excel. ------------------ |

yeah, microsoft isnt all bad. But, you'd think at some point they'd work on upgrading Paint a little. its probably the worst photo editor/drawing prog./art prog. ever. ------------------ |

no, just changes the permissions of files, making them readable, writable or executable to the public, a special group( usually like a dev team), or the author. does not make something an exe.

Can you just right-click on the file, then go to the "Security" tab? That will give you control for read/write/execute and such. If you would still like the functionality of chmod on Windows from the command line, I use UnxUtils, which are GNU utilities recompiled for use on Win32. It's very helpful, and lets me have ls, chmod, grep, etc, all on my Windows command line. Cheers! --clint ------------------ |
