It is so amazing. I remember watching the National Geographic channel, and how zebras live. I found it amazing how the mother would protect it's newborn from seeing other zebras stripes so that it would only recognize hers, and all types of things like that... The animals in the animal kingdom also seemed to know their boundaries when it came to... dum dum dum... sex. I saw a young male zebra trying to lure a young zebra teenager away from her family... lol. And he would help her across the field, away from everyone else. And she followed. It almost seemed like he was smiling. Then I saw the dad realize what was happening. (It was amazing watching this) And then he came charging after them, and brought his daughter back to where the family was.. then he started fighting the dude. He was fighting him to test his strength, after the long fight he welcomed him as part of the family.

Feel free to share your stories, insights, or whatever about The Amazing Animal Kingdom here!

It's amazing my wife's cat is alive. It knocked over a full glass of water onto my keyboard on my desktop computer. I chased the cat but couldn't catch him. I had to take my keyboard apart and dry out all the little crevaces. I wanted to severely hurt the cat but his amazing animal instincts told him to hide where I couldn't find him for several hours.

Ants have underground farms and they can catch enemy babies and raise them as slaves to work on the farms but the slaves don't know they're slaves! And army ants will snap together like Lego to make temporary houses when they're taking a break. Ants ants ants.

A hyena clan won't attack a pride of lions unless they have at least three hyenas for every lion... cheeeap.

My dog ate two dragonflies while they were going at it.

There was a big horned spider in my room right next to where my bed is so I chased it with a Dust Devil vacuum but it wasn't strong enough to tear the spider from the wall so I tried smashing it with my hand but it ran away.

The downstairs bathroom is like at ground level and I went in there at like 7:00 AM and there was this pure white weasel/ferret thing standing on its back legs looking in through the window at me.

And today my dad and me took out this wasp nest, biggest one ever, like a square foot, used up almost a whole can of this super-strong poison stuff, wasps were at least twice as big as a yellow jacket, then we destroyed the nest, there were only like 20 or 25 of the giants and we got them as they came out the entrance. They made the meanest horsefly look like a ladybug. I wanted to take out the nest with my paintball gun. I guess queen wasps/bees look pretty much like the workers. I was hoping there'd be a boss one at the end.

LOL! Wow, that was pretty funny guys... too bad no wasp boss :P

That reminds me of this one time.. I was out in the backyard cleaning out the gutters on the roof... and I climbed down the ladder. I saw a wasp fly into a spiders web, and then this huge green spider started climbing up the web with a purpose... seemed like it was furious or something. I got excited at this sight and prepared for the awesome showdown.

The spider grabbed it and wrapped it's legs around the wasp biting at it and stuff, and moving in circles around it.. then after a while the wasp started to fight back... and the spider stopped moving... then the wasp was hitting it or something.. and then it wrapped it's legs around the spider, flipped it's wings out... and flew off the web! Then it hovered there for a second or two, getting a better grip, and then it flew away really fast in a circle and then up out of view.

It was really awesome... kinda scary though, I felt bad for the spider afterwards... I've been wondering if that wasp was setting it up from the start though...

update on the keyboard situation...

3 of my keys perform "extra" functions now. The 2/@ key at the top now also doubles as a shift key! The left Ctrl button now mutes the computer. The left Alt key (if you keep pressing it over and over) slowly turns the volume down. On top of these 3 keys being extra special, the Enter key on the number pad doesn't work at all.

So now, if I'm copying and pasting text back and forth in an editor or something, my music keeps muting and unmuting over and over.

I took the keyboard apart and dried out the inside. It's not as bad as it was before though, right after the incident the right Alt key opened the calculator and the right Ctrl key opened the web browser...but those 2 are fine now. That sure made Ctrl + Alt + Del interesting.

mastallama, are you in the right thread?
Woops I meant the wasp nest was a cubic foot, not square.

I got sort of a similar story to yours Brandon, but instead of a wasp, it was a moth, who was struggling like crazy while this nasty looking spider came along, so I tried freeing the moth but failed, so I just blammed the spider into next week, then the moth escaped but I think he died later anyway.

All my When Animals Attack stories are about bugs, it's kinda sad.

Once I hit a bug, and it fell onto a spiders web, and the spider ran out and grabbed it... it was awsome

Some ants keep herds of aphids, they "milk" them for a substance they give off when rubbed by the ants antennas. We had some ants with their own little herds of aphids on a grape vine we have in our yard, it was pretty cool watching them.

My rabbit, snowball, ate my moms strawberries...

she still my favorite.
... my mom forgave her, though.
