I'd love to! Just getting it finished is the problem. I don't think that is going to happen. Its just a silly hobby project though.

With my current project (the MUD engine), I know that it's a powerful engine that people might want to license in the future, but I don't see how that would help me really. If I want to make money, it won't be through selling a couple dozen $50 licenses to this game engine -- because if I'm trying to make money, then this engine really isn't worth my time.

I *might* charge for the engine, but the only reason I would do that is so that people wouldn't take it lightly, or consider it worthless. Kindof the idea of why you would sell Bibles for $1 instead of giving them away -- attaching any sort of price can make something feel like there is some worth to it.

I dunno' though -- still thinking about this one, but I don't realistically think that enough people would pay for this game to make it worth my while -- therefore I have to find another motivation for doing what I do.

Make a game with the MUD engine, and if it's a hit it would encourage people to buy the engine, I know that would take a while, but it would be worth it IMO.

Yeah, but how much would be gained by selling the engine? Even if I made a few thousand dollars off of it in the first two years of its release, it's still not worth the amount of time I've put into it.

I'd rather people use the engine to create good (Christian) MUDs -- that's worth way more to me.

Why do you ask? Do you have an online store or something? I wish I had a game to sell. I have yet to make one... they seem so complicated! And they require grahpics! Ugg I really suck at drawing (on the comp and off the comp)

I was asking mainly to see how people were going get their game out in the public.
