i was wondering if anyone knew a good online college to check out? i'm looking to go toward the programming side of things. i was reading in an i-net+ book i have about different languages and stuff and i can't help but want to learn something so i can actually code! anyway, i'm also interested in taking courses if i will learn something from the course, keep in mind i'm somewhere just above absolute begginer. i'm NOT going for game programming. applications, databases, web develepment...that sorta thing is what i'm looking to get into. any advice would be helpful, and prayers are MUCH appreciated. ------------------ www.gfa.org - Gospel for Asia www.persecution.com - Voice of the Martyrs |

I don't think colleges like being totally online - they prefer to have at least some classes on a physical campus. If there is one, I'd be interested in it also . ------------------ Switch Mayhem now available! Get it here |

I know that this may not be what you're looking for. But this may help someone who is looking for an online design school http://www.sessions.edu/ Who knows, you may find an individual course that you're interested in. ------------------ |

i've been starting for a while. i just can't stick with one thing for too long. hence my very broad range of general computer related knowledge, and no expertise at all. i think if i stick with the coding i'll be happy, at least if a put as much effort into my own projects as i can. is there any practical use of writing wsh scripts for use by a program writing? for some reason i'm fascinated by scripting(???). also now that i understand what object-oriented programming means i get why a lot of people think it's so wonderful. it's got to be more efficient in the long-haul, being able to reuse generically wrote code, instead of starting from scratch on every single project. ------------------ www.gfa.org - Gospel for Asia www.persecution.com - Voice of the Martyrs |

benny, check out the following www.kyvu.org - it pulls all programs offered online from various colleges in Kentucky. here's one you might be interested in: Associate in Applied Science Information Technology (Networking Option) KY Resident $79/credit hr for Residents $79-$95/cr hr is pretty cheap, and plus you can get a associates degree and I'm guessing most if not all will be paid for through state and federal financial aid grants. Also, your credits should transfer to other Kentucky University system colleges fairly easily. You'll have to dig for the info on this site www.kyvu.org, might be worth checking out though. In NY the best online I can get is $181/credit hr But compared to University of Phoenix Online @ $460/credit hr its not bad [This message has been edited by coolj (edited April 14, 2005).] |

these aren't online, but they claim to be 'free' colleges in Kentucky. I'm sure there are strings attached... Berea College Alice Lloyd College ..or move to california, I read somewhere that you can attend Foothill College online www.foothill.edu for a mere $17/credit hr. surfs up dude!
