What if there was a skateboarding game, but you raced them rather than do just tricks?

I think that would be kind of boring after a while...

How so? They wouldn't even have to be regular skateboards, you could use your imagination, they could be floating and space age, or why even space age, they could be like an anicent chariot, with robotic horse pulling it, and they could have nonsensical speeds.

But if they were floating wouldn't they be hover boards? And hasn't this been done before quite a few times?

Like I said, they don't even have to be floating, you could use anything, why not have a skate board with monster truck size wheels? And just don't comment on my ideas, use your imagination.

It'd be cool to have a game where you have to win races, get points from doing tricks, etc. to upgrade to different types of boards like you are talking about...

Yes, that's the basic idea, for the basic system of gameplay to be laid down, but what about a new type of gameplay never used?

hmm...how about something where you do more than race, but have to get around obstacles and stuff and solve puzzles to get through the race

or after certain races you have to go against a "boss" and play horse with him...like he does a trick and then you have to do it...ya know...horse...

I like that idea

or how about someone rolls a dice, with each number on the dice is a certain trick, someone rolls, they get a number, they do a trick, then the next person the does the same thing, whoever gets the highest number wins.

Or it could even decide the fate of land, mix skateboarding and mideval-times RPG, who ever does the best skateboarding trick (without dice), takes over a castle, and they could run into fights, like in normal RPG games, but with skateboards.

or the two boards that i ride

freebord - moves and acts like a snowboard, so you snowboard the street
www.freebord.com

also see some nice clips at
http://www.freebord.com/clips.html

or my other board a dirtsurfer
www.dirtsurf.com
this one allows speed and nice carving on two wheels, with increasing control the faster you go, on a variety of terrian , on and off road, i've been over 90 km/h on this board, and others have been over 120 km/h

so probably an extreme boarding game with some variety would be cool

yeah freebord rides almost EXACTLY like a snowboard.. you can do flowing 360's (look at some of the video clips) etc.. you have an 'edge' like a snowboard (and thus that acts like a break, you can slide..

its motto is:

Snowboard the Street

-
sometimes i've gotten pro skaters to try it, and because they are good on a skateboard, they don't listen to what i tell them , and they fall off bad in the first second..
BUT RIDE it like a snowboard with all the snowboarding leaning etc, and its sweet as.

i just made a quick freebord video yesterday,

with my younger brother riding..

check it out (30 meg WMV) at

http://www.godcentric.com/freebord/

its the seapointbasic.wmv

you don't want windows automatically opening it in IE, so right click, save target as.. you know the drill..

b.t.w music is another forgiven unreleased song.

those things look pretty cool. they also look easier to ride than skateboards. it looked like your bro' could turn the board sideways and still go(even if slowing down or braking), which i'm pretty sure with the skateboard wheel design is physically impossible.

that's cuz of the two swivel wheels in the middle of the board. so it runs like a snowboard.

which is cool.

Actully benny, you can slide on the side on a skateboard. Its called a 90 degree power slide. Used for slowing down. Lol
