Or, dont throw (all or part of) something precious (like time, energy, money) at something meaningless, sinful, or obsessive (g/f or b/f, video games, porn mags, etc..) Maybe even take it further and think, "Hey, God has blessed me with X, should I just use it for my own whim or wisely?" And please dont throw this too out of proportion, I dont think its wrong (or unwise) every now and then to by myself a mountain dew or play a few games with my friends...
