well, it should be pointed out that christmas has always fallen on december 25th.. its not that the Pope changed the date of christmas, he just adjusted the calendar because it had gotten out of sync with what might be called nature's calendar.. this happened periodicly in the medieval and ancient world due to the fact that the early calendars weren't based on a 365 1/4 day year.. so eventually, over a long period of time, the months would no longer match up with the actuall seasons. Dec. 25th in either calendar, most likely, isn't the actual birthdate of Jesus anyway. ------------------ |

Most people think that he was born in the Spring. Why dont we have days that are 24 hours and 25 minutes... that would make it so we wouldent need leap years ------------------ I dont like siggys. They are to hard to think up :( |

"as to the calendar change, this recent whopper of an earthquake moved the earth off the old axis and may thus have slightly slowed its spin. As a result, the Julian calendar may gradually start catch up with the Gregorian version. Looks as if maybe the Lord above is getting a little ticked at the whole situation and is stepping in to really mess things up." |
