ok. i have the possibility of doing the following:

1. pay off some of my credit card debt(why did i ever get them?!?!?!) i make my minimum payments by the way. and i already paid a chunk of it with some of the money.

2. get an overclockable motherboard, and 512 of ram(i have everything else but an operating system)...which would allow me to make use of my 8x agp gforce fx 5200 video card, which is currently on a 4x board.

3. get an external sound card, an s-video cable, and a dvd-rom/cd-rw drive and finish making my comp into a multimedia machine. which has a dell dimension 4300 motherboard, 640mb of ram, 2.0ghz p4, and 2 hard drives totaling around 50gb of storage. oh, and round cables

4. if i can(don't know what the owners doing yet), get a geo metro convertible with no engine, and wait and get a 1.6 litre motor from a mazda 323 or 626 and drop in it.

...ok, those are my options. and if i go with 1 or 3 i'll prob'ly also take the "school of evangelism" from www.wayofthemaster.com. so any opinions or advice welcome. mack, i figured you would tell me what you believe the right thing to do is, and you will put it bluntly, so your advice is very welcome

i'd go with 1 - pay of your debts , so you are not a debter of man, also learning the discipline of 'delayed gratification' rather than 'instrant gratification, and pay later modern mentality'

b.t.w WAYOFTHEMASTER rocks, the two people in that organisation are people i respect alot - kirk cameron, and a fellow kiwi - ray comfort.

kirk cameron and ray comfort's show 'the way of the master' is one of the few shows i'll watch on tbn. i'm wanting to take that course they have, and if it's good then tell my pastor about it. my pastors been looking for help on discipling people, and i figure teaching them to share the gospel is a MAJOR part of that ...yeah, 1 is prob'ly the best choice. i'll prob'ly get a Christian music cd or 2, get that course, and send the rest in on the cards. right now i'm waiting for my uncle to get through with my truck, then i'm
going job hunting. if i go with one of the other decisions i plan on putting half of each paycheck(if possible) toward my debts, tithe, and use the rest for gas. i don't have any real bills right now so that's the smart thing to do. anywho, thanks for the advice.

Yeah, debts. Not as fun as the other stuff, of course, but credit will eat you alive so it's best to be rid of it. Still should have some recurring debt in order to keep your credit scores nice and active, but it doesn't have to be an insanely high amount.

Just my opinion

#1 sounds good. Seriously, credit cards don't do much good.

I have only one credit card and a check card, and I intend to keep it that way. I have a small, occasional purchase I use to keep my credit active, and that's about it.

IMHO, there's only one good thing I'd use a credit card for: An unavoidable purchace, ie an emergency.

For everything else, it comes out of my bank account, and I'll use a check or my check card instead.

One big piece of advice: Always try to pay back as much as possible, in fact, paying back the entire purchase as soon as the first bill comes is the best way to go.

Advise: Save, don't debt! It's much better to save and purchase later than to purchase now, and pay later. You avoid having to pay interest, plus you know you have enough money. Saving for a purchase is a very good practice to learn. As klumsy said, learn 'delayed gratification' rather than 'instrant gratification, and pay later modern mentality'. The instant gratification will only lead to trouble.

Saving has another advantage: It forces you to wait, and gives you time to think about the purchase. Thinking about purchases is something I highly reccommend .

Reasoning with non-believers without encouraging them to read the Bible, I have found, is quite useless. God's word convinces - not our own reason.

While the Way of the Master stuff looks cool ...

Make sure you check with your local church or pastor/minister first - they probably have already purchased decent material that you could borrow for free. Or the minister may be willing to do training with you, again for free.

Just a thought.

my pastor is the reason i was asking about it, he's looking for help with that sort of thing. he's more of my older brother(a good bit older) than he is my pastor, but i'm also a preacher so i get like double the benefit of talking to him

right at the north, time stops, that is why santa claus is still around hundreds of years later

na, well i suppose its just a matter of measure the lines very carefully..
lets say if you were right on the centre of the north pole, and saw lines for each of the time zones going out for a spot, you could probably put one foot in PST time in the US and another foot at greenwich time, or alternative step on both sides of the internal date time line and be in the future and the past at the same time :P

b.t.w since in New Zealand we are about a day ahead of the USA, i already know the results of the election .

but enough of that babbling on a serious note New Zealand was the first allied country to declare war on germany in WW2 - mostly because it was to be annouced at the saem time throughout the british empire in each date time zone, and we happened to be the first, though i suppose it was safe in those days, in todays world, little own weak New Zealand would be smitten by some nuke rather quickly if it did that
