i was just wondering if anyone here has heard of Gospel for Asia? it's a great organization, worth checking out. you can support a missionary and all the money will go directly to support the missionary, they're all about reaching the lost, in asia(hence, gospel for 'asia'). oh, the url is http://www.gfa.org

Yeah, I saw the free book offer online and said to myself "It's probably crap, but what the heck, it's free, and all I have to give them is my address." I never read much of it, but by chance my parents picked it up off my desk and read it, and now they're supporting GFA monthly. Looks like they have no intentions of stopping giving donations to them, ever.

But yeah, I've heard great things about GFA too.

thats great and all, but take china 4 example. it is agianst their laws 4 missionaries to go there. Does this mean christian missionaries to China r sinning. Then again, that means Christian in the early roman empire, ** constantine were also sinning, for they were breaking roman law.

that's going on the assumption that breaking a man made law is sin. i say follow what word of GOD says, and what the SPIRIT of GOD tells you to do, and if it goes against a man made law then who cares?

yep, its GOd's law that matters,
though we are to obey the 'law of the land' if it does not contradict God's law and his will.
but as we do what God has called us to, be ready to recieve the persecution that the bible promises the followers of Christ, even maybe matyrdom

as for the Church in China, there are alot of 'missionaries' there doing other jobs (like teaching), but the majority of missionaries are chinese, China has a very vibrant and powerful church, growing at such a rapid speed. Chinese church is accepted or persecuted very different depending on the local leaders, in some provinces the government praises christians for their morals, and publically say they have show to goals of "communism" more than any communist, and ask for wisdom and guidance from the church in their decisions, in other places, the underground church doesn't have to be very underground and all, but in other places they get persecuted much.

Wow that sounds cool! I have heard of Compassion International which allows kids to go to school and learn about Christ in other countries. It is made to take the weight off of the family because of the amount of children they have. So that way the parents still work but have some help since their pay may not be great.

compassion international sounds pretty cool. i need to get more involved with the persecuted church, i may never be a missionary but if GOD blesses me with a good job i should help financially and such, but that will be a while. i also want to get some stuff together and talk about it all with the youth group at our church, it's time i actually do something instead of dream about doing something.

Your youth group could sponser a child. I am leading our Jr. High Youth group and we have been receiving letters from our child. It really helps you see what a difference you can make in someones life.

Also there are people surrounding you that may not have the nessecities of life. Last year our youth group went out into the city and help a woman fix up her house (It was in bad shape). She didn't have enough money to fix it and so we were asked to volunteer time to help work on it. It was a really cool experience for the kids and for me.

our church helps out with a local shelter for abused kids. mainly donating house hold items and such, but that's what they need. we're in a small town so helping people out is something the church usually don't do as a whole, mainly the young men(myself inlcuded) help with the physical labour. but most of the time we don't really have to many people to help like that because everyone has family that hooks them up, which is nice. it's great being able to be a positive influence to the teenagers in our church, because they need it. also thier parents don't always get what's going on in their kids minds, and they have to be parents, so they can't always sit back and listen like a semi(very semi)-responible 19 year old can . anywho.
