does it make sense for a man to want to get married, but not want to date? i got to be messed up in the head. it's like i want to care about a woman, get married, and all that stuff, but yet when i simply get interested iin woman i fight it with all i got. i feel stupid when i start likeing somebody...anybody else got this problem? i also have the fear of it being a big snare that the devil has set up for me, mainly because i've walked into a big one before that last a long time. i reckon i'll just keep praying about it and see what happens. anywho, GOD bless y'all, and pray for me(i can always use more!). ------------------ |

thanks for the prayers, and it was a big snare that the devil had set up. i won't go into any details but it was. i'm going to learn to completely rely on that small still voice one of these days, i hope . ------------------ |

Hey, this is my advice. Stop worrying too much and over contemplating, it's just gonna cause yourself unneccessary agony. If you are in a relationship, just look at it to see if it's of God or not. If the relationship is healthy, God honoring and edifying than I wouldn't worry about it. Don't feel stupid about liking women, you are supposed to like them, God designed it that way. Just remember that there is absolutely nothing wrong with getting into a relationship with a woman unless the relationship is unhealthy and dishonoring God. This is my understanding. ------------------ |

I would have to go with InsanePoet. Only date dates if they are Christians (at least I assume that's what you are). Don't do anything that God commands you not to do (i.e. Fornication, Adultery, puting your partner before God, ect.) Don't worry about wanting to date, its natural. Pray about it. ------------------ |

technically nowhere. It says not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (marrying unbelievers) and since dating is a step toward marriage it's best to avoid believer/unbeliever relationships |

Can you give me a reference as I would like to read it in context. See, I am a Christian dating an Athiest and I am always interested to find more reading about it. ------------------ |

2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? |

yep. i'm not planning on dating anytime soon. i've got some issues that need worked out, and a lot of things in my life need to be set strait before i can even think about dating, and prob'ly before any girl should think about dating me. such as getting a job...holding down a job is more like it. which if i go back to school won't be for a couple of years. well, my brother just walked in and we're gonna go check out some land he's planning on buying...later and GOD bless. ------------------ |
