ok, did you make your mum's mothering Sunday a day she will never forget? flowers, choccies, visit to the zoo? what DID you do?

Well I went out and got a bouquet of carnations, they would not fit totally into my back pack so all the way to my mum's house all I could see in my o/s mirror was a load of carnations being blown all over the show sticking out of the top of my back pack as I weaved in out of the traffic on my Honda 125

I thought "any minute they'll be blown out and land in the road where some artic'll drive straight over 'em"

luckily they survived intact and upon arrival at my mum's I found her with a wallpapering table set up, a bucket of glue and steam coming out of her ears

you can guess how I spent my NEXT couple of hours how did YOUR mothering Sunday go??

I'm pretty clueless too. Is this a "UK only" holiday?

Mother's day isn't until May here in the US.

"2nd Sunday in May in North America, fourth Sunday in Lent in Europe" according to the Wikipedia.

it WAS mother's day Arch!!

try and remember next year or your mum will get the wooden spoon out (well that's what my mum did one year !)

you are supposed to get the mum

a) breakfast in bed
b) Sunday newspaper of her choice
c) run a hot bath sprinkled with rose petals and Barbra Streisand playing beautifully in the background
d) clear up the kitchen so that it is PRESTINE, all washing up done and ready for lunch
e) now take the old girl out on a walk around Hampton Court Palace and get some fresh air down those rusty old gills that she calls LUNGS
f) DON'T forget the mother's day CARD either, preferably with flowers on the front but at least an old windmill from old amsterdam

ok, WHICH of that lot did U get done ????
