Does anyone else listen to Rez or the Glenn Kaiser Band ? Can anyone recommend bands that are similar ? I've been buying their CD's/record's/tapes off the web, and reliving my teens. They rock.

Boy are you bringing back MEMORIES now!!! Rez band has retired for along time now! I liked the song '2000' or 'Year 2000' - can't remember now - 'course that was before the year 2000 was even though of. As far as groups that sound like them - hard to say. At the time, they were among some of the harder music groups but it's almost light rock now. Music genre has also changed alot since then. Can't help you with a current alternate but will keep my ears open for a similar band and will let you know if I hear of one. :b (Gonna have to find that song again now that you mentioned it!)

The song 2000 is off 'Between Heaven And Hell', from memory. 'in the year 2000, will we still have minds ? Will our hearts be stone cold, and who drew the blinds'. My favourite song on that album is probably Zuid Afrikaan. Afrikaans off their first or second album is probably my favourite Rez song, although 'Where Roses Grow' would come close.

The web site is www.grrrrecords.com ( if that doesn't work, change the number of r's until it does ). 2000 is on a tape which they will sell you for the measly price of $2, it's either 'Between Heaven and Hell' or 'Hostage'. Sadly, neither is yet offered on CD. I've bought nearly all the albums now, and all the Glenn Kaiser Band ones too, they are awewsome. It helps to know your money is going somewhere good, I've not held back, I am coming close to having bought one of everything.

I know what you mean about genre change, I was looking at an advertisment for phone tones last night ( who would pay for such a thing ? ), and metallica was listed in the 'rock' section, although there was a 'metal' one. If Metallica ain't metal, what is ?

Well, I guess I owe you an apology first. I got to looking on the internet and they have apparently still produced some (acually several) albums since I heard them last. They have one as recent as 1997! I was shocked. I found a link you might find of interest:

I found the remake of 2000 which is off their Heaven and Hell tape. Enjoy!

Thanks for the link. Yes, I have the latest one, ampendectomy and it's really good. I can live without 'Lament', the one before, but XX years and innocent blood are both awesome.
