Whoa, nice! Though the guy should've stopped after the first 13 paragraphs or so. Oh well. I guess since it's a secular business he's obligated to present non-Christian viewpoints as well. It was pleasing, however, to see that Mackenzie's game was the first one mentioned. Props to you man!

"Bagley summed it up: “I just don’t want to be another two guys in the garage creating cheesy Christian games.” "

Interesting comment, I felt a bit affronted by this, even though i'm only one guy in the garage creating cheesy games...

He also mentioned finding God in Grand Theft Auto. I happen to think the GTA concept could work really, really well as ac Christion game, ie having the same mission structure, but make the missions of a Christian nature. I'm almost tempted to make a GTA mod, but there's probably no Christians with the GTA game to play it, and non-Christians are too busy running people over and blowing people to bits.

Yeah, neat article

A LOT of Christians play GTA. I don't myself, but there are plenty that do.

Great article! Thanks for posting it Mackenzie. I don't want to start a flaming forum by any means but the article brought up a couple of interesting things, mainly by the Thomas and Clark guys. The more I think about it, they are right, GTA does promote theology to an extent. The problem with their thinking is that with GTA there is an obvious lack of morality in the game. When there is an absence of morality (right and wrong), the theology will degrade not increase. In other words, GTA can only lead to a warped sense of theology. I give a cudos to Mackenzie and their game because the theology (w/ morality) is sound while still making a top-notched "Christian" game. Way to go, Mackenzie and Two Guys Software!

God and Two Guys Software, I'm just part of TGS and God directs and does the influences for and in the projects. I don't want this to seem like I'm slamming you but I just don't want solo credit put on myself. Alot of people came together to put Eternal War together so they and especially God need to be given due credit.

I didn't get the link between GTA and God, can someone explain it to me?

I have to say that Thomas and Clark are really out there as far as what they say they believe in this article. What we really need is games to where you don't have to find a "hidden" meaning. I don't get that anyway. God doesn't offer His plan as a hidden secret. It's not like we are all on a hidden spiritual treasure hunt. God WANTS to reveal Himself to us. I don't think you should have to search deep inside a game to find a God message then consider it an effective way to evangelize.

We need more Eternal Wars and Catechumens, etc that gives a revelation to gamers that there is a God and that He loves them. I'm glad some respectible Christian companies got some advertisement, but I wasn't too fond of the article for the most part. It really seemed to me that it was giving a basic message of, "We realize what you guys are trying to do, but it's already being done." The end note of the article was of those stating that there was not a need. Since this was the end of the article, I felt that the message was left with the need already being met by Grand Theft Auto of all games (sheesh!). I really feel there is a need for what alot of us here at CC are trying to do.

Regardless of what you view the article's message. Press on to the prize, and congrats to the guys who got the mention! Maybe others will try the games and they can see the difference for themselves.
