I really hate that I missed it this year. I'm there next year, hopefully with some real material to take with me as well as far as a business goes. I hope it was a blessed event. Keep me posted on where/when it's going to be next year. I'd like to know how it went if anyone who went has time to tell me. Thanks! ------------------ |

Mack - you were supposed to be abducted this year! So, you want updates! Maybe we should charge you for them. Actually, I will charge you for t-shirts! Some left over. And they look great. And only $10 each + shipping. I haven't typed it up but I guess we should tell Mack what his team won.. <drum roll> .... <suspense building> .... <Should we require attendance for winning? Hmmm...> .... <More drums please> .... <bear in mind the "exact" wording needs to be tweaked> ... <ta da> ... Winner of the contribution of the year - game category (or maybe just say CGDC Game of the Year ('02-'03) is .... <symbol roll> by some Canadian team that don't know how to travel ... Two Guys Software!! Congrats! Give me a little while to get your prize package together. Other awards: Congrats. And contribution of the year - Person or web site category: Congrats. And two scholarships were awarded based on proposals - I'll have to dig up the exact titles, but the teams that won were: Congrats to all! Give me a week to catch up on life before you yell about your prizes! ;-) Go God! Tim ------------------ [This message has been edited by graceworks (edited July 28, 2003).] |

quote: Stop the Presses! Hold the horses! "So, you want updates! Maybe we should charge you for them." was said in jest ... sarcasm. There will be no charge to tell you how it it went. Looking back over the thread, the only mention of a dollar value was for a t-shirt. Yes, I'd like to charge for the shirts since they were paid for out of my pocket. Last year, I did give them away but with triple the people, I couldn't afford to do that this year. I have XXL, XL and a few larges left. I finally got the report typed up this weekend. This is what people wrote down on their report sheets. I still need a volunteer to summarize the entire conference experience as I would do an inadequate job due to being too busy with logistics. If you are interested in following up more about the conference forums (they are at a different place for now), you can contact me at Tim@cgdc.org address. Some decisions the group made were to include card, board and paper games in the future. And to have another conference next year. And to form an association. God bless, ------------------ |

Basically, if you are a Christian interested or active in game development, this conference is for you. ------------------ |

@graceworks, ok, I was just being sure. I'll be interested in coming next year for sure. I should have my first game out by then. Sounds like your conference this year was a success. ------------------ |

quote: That is what folks are saying. I was a bit busy with logistics so don't feel able to make that judgement call. But I have heard no negatives from those that attended (well, there is the comment on the report that we should have a 15 minute break between every session - but they fail to mention that getting people back together after a break would take 15 or 20 minutes! :-) ). You don't have to have a game done to attend. In fact, suggestions were made for workshops for next year, we'll see how to fit those in. Hey, can you link to the conference at your site? Also, fyi, your tutorials aren't loading. Also, we hope to have one "customer-facing" web site for all Christian Games. Don't know if that will have forums built-in but we do want a mechanism for customers to get developers feedback. Keep that in mind. I also shudder at the thought of one more forum in our community! I can't keep up with the 4 or 5 now! Can you share which engine you are using on your game? Sorry for digressing, Email me if you prefer to answer these questions that way - Tim@GraceWorksInteractive.com May the Lord bless all of our efforts - as long as the efforts further His Kingdom, ------------------ |
