We have National Insurance Numbers (NIN) which kinda decides how much tax we pay. But it is never used for identification purposes. But we usually get asked what our NI number is. I would use NI rather then NIN as most of the Payroll software, and instant account software refers to it as your NI. Hope this helps. --D-SIPL ------------------ |

D-SIPL is correct, everybody in UK gets an NI card by post at 16, then they can work! if you try and get a job without an NI card, you have a whole host of trouble coming with the card, the employer is happy (enough) also ------------------ |

My wallet got stolen in London a few years ago and my NI card went with it, subsequently i just use a TN number at the moment, but get nice rebates every year --D-SIPL ------------------ |
