we all have a story to tell something that happened that is so much a part of you, you'll just never forget it

sometimes, something happens that "triggers" that whole memory - so, what's YOUR story? Tell it in 2 stages the lead up, then when somebody expresses an interest, the conclusion

ok I'm first, this really happened - it may sound like a joke it's not

STAGE 1
I was 14 she was 13
it was summer, real hot
at the back of my house were wide open fields, one had horses but the largest was empty
the girl lived opposite me and I was just crazy about her
somehow - there we were at the edge of the 2 fields, just "together" - just me and her, nobody else in sight

I couldn't believe my luck, we could talk, we could be friends, at last this was happening, it wasn't a dream

well we had only been there 10 minutes when she said "oh no!" yikes what happened next was bad news

what's your story?

Let me guess, she was like "Sorry, I would love to stay and chat but I have to go. I forgot my family and I are moving to Oregon today and I have to be home right now." Then she moves to Oregon and becomes My stage one. That is until she says: "Oh, No!"

And yah that was the end of stage 2 for you and the beg. of stage 1 for me

yeah, then she moves to CA and become stage 1 for me. no, wait. She's way too old for me! She has to be, like, I don't know, Chiefy's age.

Waiting to see what is, Chiefy! I hope it's not depressing... cuz depressing stories, are well, to be redundant, depressing.

uh, well, I go spread my time between the two places. Wormholes allow me, too.

I got some relatives there too. er, it's a drive south, I'll say that.

hey wacko ARCH thanks for joining in guys... but don't YOU have a story too?
ok well think about it, because I don't want to be the only one with a sad story here.... please!

STAGE 2
very sad to say, as this girl says "Oh no" my Dad looms into view ... real furious, he obviously SUSPECTS (BIG TIME) that I am intending to get this girl into trouble and hauls me back to my home without a second's delay as if I am some FIEND!

I cannot hope to convince anybody I guess, that I certainly had no such intention (at age 14 all I could think of was a kiss!) what a nightmare

well I'm all grown up now, many years have passed and the girl married somebody else ... and so did I. so why this incident troubles me now, I have no idea but it does

c'mon - anybody else have some story, from when they were young that causes "frustration" ?

Can I make something up?

stories like that.. I have sadly too many .. some about the wrong stuff, but also some good - like i have had many christian female friends (and a few girlfriends), some whom i was very close , some i could have married. But now i have my lovely wife and she is all i want, and its not appopriate to have a deep emotional relationship with other women, ex-girlfriends or just close friends.. still friends of course, still fellow workers in Christ.. But we are couple friends.. But i know that when i get to heaven i will have complete holy intamacy with all my friends of past and present.. I am blessed with the wife i have, the greatest wife i could ever have. I terminate any of the what if threads that might try to enter into my head, and meditate the covenant i made with my wife and God, to be faithful to her and her alone, not just sexually but emotionally..

anyway for a two stage story

Stage 1:

i was about 16 or 17
it was a dark and cloudy night. I was over at my brothers, travelling as usual on my faithful mountainbike.. It was a cold night, the fire was going.. I spend the night there with my family.. to wake up in the middle of the night to find that low and behold , my only transport - my dear mountain bike had been stolen (the 5 bicycle i had had stolen up to that point)..
However when praying i felt God telling me to go to a certian street corner on a certian day and certian time..

So that day came, and i departed around that time to the said street corner...

Stage 2 yet to come, after the commercial break.

Ooooo, this one looks like it'll be pretty good.

*Caleb grabs the cake from Mack, takes a bite, grimaces, then gives it back*.

Good to see the fruit of paitence being exercised by some

So i went to said street corner, and within a few minutes, lo and behold , along came my bike with a rider on it..

So in full "spiritual ferver (sic)" i went over and pummled the guy off my bike..and got it back, momentarily feeling vindicated..

Then i looked into his eyes, and somehow i could see into his soul, see the Rejection and Pain. Regretably my self occupation with my own feelings of shame had me walk away that day without saying anything more.
BUt in meditating about that day, i have learnt many lessons - ones i will not forget..

The "miracle" that God pulled off, was not soley for my material benefit of getting my bike back.. Nor was it limited to my own personal spiritual benefit, of growing in faith regarding hearing his voice.. It was meant for the benefit of this other person - a sinner indeed - yet one that God loved with a passion, as much as He loved me.. a person Jesus died for. I could have walked in the role of ambassador of Christ, living his Love, showing His Mercy, Pointing towards Him.. But i didn't and God's grace is sufficent enough to forgive me - and at least i have learnt from it..
But an interesting story
one of many many like that i have.. Many i do not even recall as I've been one to experience God alot in various ways and often have taken Him for granted, or treated Him as common

anyway Baby is crying so Adious

I have an interesting 2 stage story. About 4 years ago a friend of mine was recording his first CD. I thought it would really be neat to actually write a song for his CD and present it to him as a gift. Well I prayed about it and over the next week I wrote my first song! I have no musical training or ability at all. I can't read music and I can barely sing. Well he came over to my house and I sang the song to him. He really liked it a lot and we were both excited that he was going to record it and put it onto his CD. Alas, the song never got recorded, but something far greater soon happened that completely surprised me and totally changed my life. A few of you out there (who know me) might know what happened, so don't ruin it for the rest!

haha, okay, just kidding...
What? I'm curious.

So a few weeks later, I was doing the dishes. By the way, I have been married for nearly 17 years and have two kids. While I was doing the dishes, I noticed that I was singing some song that I had never heard before. It totally surprised me since this had never happened to me before. I had the melody and some of the words. So I sang what I had onto a cassette tape and forgot about it. The next morning I remembered and I listened to the cassette tape. I thought to myself that the song needed a chorus, and suddently the words of the chorus and the melody were right in my head! I was totally surprised again! I sang the partial song onto a cassette tape and sent it to my friend, and that is the song that he recorded. Since then, I have written over 50 songs that praise God including two musicals. You can hear the song my friend recorded, which is called "From The Highest Mountains" along with 3 other songs that I wrote at:

http://www.oursalvation.com/musicals.htm

Probably the best song on the web page is "In My Dreams", but I have many other songs in different styles (including rock) that have yet to be recorded.
