in today's episode of STAR TREK: VOYAGER Neelix was killed during a shuttle accident

on being brought back on board STAR BASE 2067, that BORG member of staff '7 of 9' used technology modified from species 149 to bring Neelix back from the dead

the holographic life form know as 'doc ock' ruled that Neelix was "dead" for 18 hours before being resurrected by 7 of 9

Neelix is stunned to be back from the dead, but is soon HORRIFIED to realise that his beloved Erixir killed many moons before, in yet another freak shutle acident was NOT "waiting for him on the other side"

Neelix tells "7 of 9" THERE WAS NOTHING THERE
NOTHING

After firmly believing that meeting his maker would involve a gathering of the clan going back decades Neelix simply canot get over the "awful truth" that death means DEATH

what is the message to the viewers here?

what IS waiting for us beyond death?

That's what I think hell could be like. Not some place in flames deep in the earth, but total seperation from everyone. THAT would be hell.

I must say chiefy that you watch a lot of reruns.

I used to watch that series, but i got sick of the humanistic undertones, so... i quit watching that series.

I actually saw that episode and concluded it was another humanistic attack on the supernatural.
The undertone of that episode is that there is no afterlife and that all that is is here and now.

I beleive that hell is total seperation from God which is ultimatly nothing.

There's a handful of questionable episodes, but overall I like Star Trek.

I love ST, but they are getting a bit lame these days. What I do find interesting is how they put across the idea that mankind has evolved and improved beyond the need for global war, poverty, money, and virtually all of society's ills. So they live in this futuristic utopia, where life is almost perfect, and guess what: no homosexuality! Whoohoo!

Now to switch back to the death and decay mode, Neelix should die and be dead, he is more annoying than me Thankfully Kess is already gone. That leaves just Chakotay, hmmmm, horrible plasma explosion in Jeffries tube no.9, C Deck...pretty please?

i *used* to like ST, then i was struck to my sences and came to conclusion that it is all lame.

Personally, i wouldn't mine the whole ship going up in flames. BAM. i hate the captian. I think the female captian suggests a feminist agenda. arg kill em all.

I have alot of ST background. But what I think it's a little liberal for me. FORGET DIPLOMACY!!! KILL AND DESTROY!
I do enjoy ST. watched alot of VOY, new enterprise annoys me. I also like to laugh at their science. it kills me!
Probably my Dad gave me his Star Trek genes. He's a PhD Computer scientist at NASA. you understand...

They would be more entertaining if there wern't such pacifisits and liberal and bogus scientists. :-p

Neelix dies and finds his believes to be false, a horrible, harsh reality that happens to thousands of people daily.

An unknown timed rest which we will never feel. White Throne Judgement. (and for those with a relationship with Jesus) Heaven.

I personally enjoy various Sci-Fi, including Star Trek.

I liked TNG and DS9. Voyager seemed to go on for a bit too long, and Enterprise isn't particularly great (in my opinion). It has it's moments, but not too many of them. Not enough character development for my liking (though Malcom Reed is cool :P)

I'm more of a Farscape fan these days

I can't imagine separation from everyone causing 'much gnashing of teeth'. Hell sounds pretty painful to me...or so I've heard

Yes! He rocks! One of my all time favorite ST characters.
Heck, he's the weapons officer!
