Hi guys, I'm new in town!

My name is Jason Brown, and I hail from Sydney, Australia.
My Username is based on the phrase "AmazingGrace", which is probably my favourite new testament theme so...
My career background is Education (schools and corporate), Telecommunications, and Information Services
My passions are God, wife and child, computer games, soccer, sailing and others.
I'm trying to pay the bills by designing/producing 3d animated television commercials, but my real vocational love is computer games.
Computerwise, I'm 32 years old, and have been programming since the eighties, started on a thing called the "Dick Smith Wizard" (aka Creativision in other countries), moved to Commodore 64, then to Turbo C on PC, tinkered with Visual C++, Darkbasic, and now I've settled on Blitz Basic.

I play computer games mostly with friends as I enjoy the social aspect moreso than single player games (though I still play single player games occasionally).
My favourite genre would be cooperative military FPS, but I also don't mind a bit of multiplayer action RPGs like Dungeon siege, Neverwinter Nights, and a little known game called "Darkstone" ever heard of it?

Before my son came along, my ministry used to be a Christian Computer club (focused on creation more than playing) which I financed and ran, but I just can't manage doint it anymore. But it was a fun and rewarding time!

Anyways, I've just completed a little game which I added to the showcase, it's a remake of an old console game which I think is definitely worth the download. It's called Crazy Chicken.

I thought I might just also add that I was a little bit surprised by the theme of some of the threads on these forums, and there seems to be some strong opinions in regards to Christian game developement. I hope that the impression of division that I got, is incorrect and that "we can just all get along!"

Anyway, that's my say, I'll be around, hope to talk with you guys soon. Oh, and if you're an Aussie, I'm particularly interested in hearing from you!

Peace!

Dungeon siege is a off the hizzy game!
I want to make some mods for that someday.
It makes me lose sleep, though.
Darkstone is cool too. Just played the demo, but it was fun.

I find the idea of creating an action RPG very overwhelming, but I agree about the potential.

Forkman, You must have been a baby when you had your C64, they stopped selling the games about 11 years ago!

I may misunderstand, but do you mean the hair? If so, it's just one of the default avatars when you sign up. I think it's called Spikey kid or something like that. I'm 32 years old though, so it's unlikely that I'd ever have blue spiky hair...I much prefer purple spiky hair you see..

ForKmaN remember this then ?

For me THIS was the Commodore64 game of all time, I finished the game only to find to my total amazement, that the gameplay then transferred to a SECOND massive ship, I was just recovering from the shock of it all, when I was destroyed by an 888, as there were NO SAVES for paradroid .... GAME OVER

Forkman, AmazingJas, what was your top C64 game then ?

The guys who did Paradroid also did another shoot em up that I can't quite remember the name of. Basic side scroller, but from top down perspective and was very playable. Might have been called Iridium, or something similar?

My fav c64 game would have to be Turrican (1 and 2) still haven't made a better platform shooter to this day.
