Time to register for the second Christian Game Developers Conference to be held the weekend of July 25th in Portland, Oregon. Current speakers are:
Speaker #1 = Kevin Johnson of Intel
Speaker #2 = Ralph Bagley of N'Lightning Software
Speaker #3 = Frank Cloutier of Hewlett Packard
<Jeff Tunnell of Garage Games may not be able to make it due to scheduling of their IndieCon.>

Plus there will be lots of discussion and fellowship. For details, see http://CGDC.GraceWorksInteractive.com

Send Email to CGDC@GraceWorksInteractive.com if you are 90% sure you can attend. (Note it may be a day or two before you get a response).

I'm also offering a logo contest (not sure what prizes yet, for sure a free t-shirt and maybe more - if you have a prize to donate, let me know). Come up with a creative logo for CGDC'03 that will be large enough to look good on a t-shirt and posters. If nothing better is submitted, the one shown on the web site will be used as default.

Krylar, I need to get some new banners that have '03 on them. I'll try to get something to you soon.

FYI, we are at about a dozen registered for the conference.

Does anyone have any questions that aren't covered in the faq?

Still time to register.

We'll be sharing the costs and trying to keep it as cheap as possible. The more people, the less it will cost for all.

Any questions?

Uh-oh, does that mean I'm spamming? :-)

Just an update, 30 have registered so far! D-SIPL from England is coming! Other international people have expressed interest.

If you can attend, please be praying that God does wonderful things there. Thanks.

I shall be there, this is true. But i'm probably going to be in America for the whole month of July, firstly in Florida then Ohio, then Oregon for the conference.

A friend and I got wind of this here recently and would love to come, but right now our problem is transportation. It's 400+ dollars between TN and Portland.

Looks cool however.

Blue,

Sorry, we've been advertising for a year! :-)

Hotwire.com Nashville (I just assumed Nashville) July 24 to PDX and return on the 27th. $373. Don't buy from hotwire though - run to priceline and bid about half or 60% of that price. If you don't get that price, you have to change something so maybe change it from a Sunday return to a Monday and bump up the price 5% or so.

A quick check at orbitz and travelocity showed the $400ish you mentioned (and I seldom look at them since there never seems to be deals for me there). Even Yahoo Travel is the $426.

If you don't get a price you like on priceline, check back in a few days repeating the Hotwire (to get a baseline) and priceline (to crank a deal). There was a $10 priceline coupon recently as well - here is a link to it from deal catcher:
http://www.dealcatcher.com/redir.asp/m=82~c=15862

FYI, we are approaching 75 people!

Let's be praying God provides the path for you to attend.

Well it looks like BluePaladin and I won't be able to make it this year but we are making plans to be there next year, and we plan on bringing something with us (a game demo(s) or something).

Due to our own slacking and finding out so late about the conference, We have opted to take the money needed to get there and invest it in our little game venture(s).

I was wondering if anyone was planning on audio or video taping the sessions maybe for a download or something (at least a few sessions). It doesn't have to be great quality I would just like to hear what subjects get discussed, and more importantly, what everyone has to say about them.

We will pray for the conference's success.

We are hoping to videotape all the speakers! And try to make that available, either online or a videotape.

Please be praying!
