Right now the game is about 90% done. It is fully playable, but I am doing custom layouts for each level. I've had two graphics guys help with the graphics on this, (Thanks to CRAKR and JUJUJ) and it is coming along fine. The gameplay is basic, and my intentions were not to revolutionize the Breakout gaming industry, but to create a full game and learn from it. I've dealt with alot of things I didn't deal with just doing demos. I have learned so much. Here's a preview of my labor. Breakout1 There are 10 stages, but it can be expanded to do more than 10. It's a full game, but it's kind of a "gamette" hehe. Hope you like it. Additionally, there is a Christian background, a LOTR, soccer, Christmas, RPG, pyramid and one more to be designed after that. Once the game is complete, we could challenge the community to make more stages. This game is freeware and I will make the exe and stages available when it's done. ------------------ |

For those graphic folk who are interested in doing a theme, the specs are: 2 images: 1. the background (jpg format). The border is 100 pixels around the sides and top. 2. the texture (bmp format). The texture contains the paddle, up to 3 blocks and the ball. The paddle and blocks are 50 x 10 pixels and the ball is 10 x 10. The way the texture is laid out is in the top left corner, the order goes: Paddle Block Ball so the top row contains two 50 x 10 images (block and paddle) side by side and the 10 x 10 pixel ball beside those. The second row contains two 50 x 10 images that are a 2nd and third block. You don't have to do 3 blocks. You can do one or two. I made it easy for my first go around. If I get enough interested to make a theme or two, it could be a fun mini project and I'll send an exe and all the levels for you to check out. It takes me about an hour to do a theme to let the creative juices flow. I have 10 levels right now, so I don't NEED any stages, but I thought it could be a quick community project. Since the game is almost done, and it's freeware, just thought we could have some fun with it. It will be done here hopefully by Jan 15th. Since everyone wants to do big projects, thought I'd throw a small one out there. Small projects are the way to go for me right now. Best way to learn. I figured that out the hard way .
