Hay peeps we went to the DR today and they say we are going to have a girl. My wife says its my responsibility to come up with a good name. Her dad named her and its something she takes pride in. Anyone have any good ideas for names? My last name is Kelsey so can we try and not get inituals that make funny jokes. Like mine is CAK in old gang slang it means to kill. Some make it into Cake ^_^ so you see what I mean.

Congratulations, kids RULE.

Having said that, why would you pray for God to help him choose a name ? How is it a decision that will impact on anyones life at all ? I'm also keen to know how a new born child is a child of God ? ( Actually, rather than spoil a thread about something so wonderful, if you reply, could it be on a new thread ? )

But I digress. Congratulations again to all involved.

congrats mate ^_^

I like simple names, but i dont know there meanings, so nm ^_^

Did everyone else miss the post about his book? notice: its done except for a little art! thats great man ^_^

And your name can define your character. My mom was given my name while she was praying, and my dad was given the same name at work. its John, and i am named for John the Baptist, because God says i have a similar calling, in some ways. Its very important, she'll have it for the rest of her life... well, nuf ^_^

Congrats!

My wife and I had looked at names for our firstborn (also a girl) and we came across one that we liked but ended up discarding due to pressure from the grandparents I must say I don't blame them as I'd have trouble spelling it as well if it weren't on a piece of paper I carried with me at all times heheh

"Aiyana Lael" = Aiyana is Native American and means Eternal Bloom; Lael is Hebrew and means Belonging to God.

We chose the name Zoe Rennae meaning Life Reborn. We are happy with our choice too

Names do have significance; the meanings of names are important and are mentioned several times for that reason throughout Scripture.

God Bless you Angel in your consideration and the wonderful experience you have before you as a parent and a Father.

Matt

PS -My wife and I haven't yet decided on a name for our 3rd child due in a month. We're not sure what the sex is, so we're open for suggestions as well. We have one of each now and we're actually looking forward to the suprise this time.

congratulations Angel, you are in for the adventure of your life

WHO SAID "KIDS RULE" ?

well, Christian, to right - quite agree, I was a Dad - hey hey I still am, but what I mean is that when you're a Dad to a little girl aged 0 - 10 you're a FUN DAD y'know, difficult to explain

THIS young lady was once a real DADDY'S GIRL BUT guess what ? she grew up, I still can't believe that so MANY years have gone by

enjoy 'em while you can, I sometimes think I'm on fast forward, SLOW DOWN LIFE, you're going too FAST

Angel
Having a little girl and boy was the best thing that EVER happened to me...... I just didn't know it THEN

Congratulations!

You are very fortunate, Angel. A chance to be at home while your child is still young is an opportunity to be thankful for, even if it's not by choice (I don't know if it's by choice in your case or not).

Our first son was born 10 years ago. I was working full time at a local college. Our second son was born 6 months ago. These days I own my own business and get to work from home. I am *really* enjoying it. I love both my sons equally, but I feel like I'm bonding... differently, I suppose... with my youngest.

For the first 2 months after he was born my wife had to continue working full time to manage and operate her restaurant, which meant that not only was I at home, but I was doing it solo for 10 hours a day. Yikes!

Fortunatly we were able to sell the restaurant and now my wife and I are both at home -- I think I'd go insane if I had to keep it up by myself any longer.

But our second son is clearly "daddy's boy", which is kinda cool :-)

Sorry - can't help with reading material suggestions...

Whaaa-Hooo!

That's great being a Daddy for the first time is great! It changed my approach to the world compleetly. Names are very important; We (wife & I) thought for a long time and prayed over what to name our children. Take your time and decide what is important to you and your wife. For us, it was to link our children to there Grand parents and there family history. Most importantly we wanted to give them names that point them to GOD/Jesus. Both have names pulled from the Bible and names from there grand parents. In days of old, names were very important. I still believe they are very important. After all, we will be given a new name on a stone, that only God and us will know!

You will do fine. Trust the Lord in all your ways.
