Hi there, this is my premier post -- yesterday I browsed around here a bit and I did not texpect to find a Christian community dedicated to game creation at all... two years ago I had plans to make a Christian CRPG which I outlined rather sketchy plot-wise in a design document. The thing I finished for it is the rule/combat system which is rather complex though. That was fun to do and I meddled with Gamestudio to get a grip, but I just couldnt invest more time in it. Then two days ago I discovered BlitzBasic, was blown awaay and thought "hmmm, why not tackle it step by step and start small? :-)" I am not much of a programmer (my fave language at school was TurboPascal, so I know a bit about procedural programming though), I despised math, but I am quite good at logical thinking and my core competence must lie in the field of graphic design. The "scene" is not alien to me as well... I have been a member of the german group "sanction" which released some pretty nifty small 4k intros at mekka and wired... my handle was "matrix". But I met the Lord and gave my life to Him in the meantime and abandoned it all... which was a good choice. I see that some of you are trying to bring the gospel to sceners.... I wholeheartedly thank you for it and want to encourage you.... those people are in great need of salvation. Many of them are bound and need to be set free. Well, thats all for now.... anticipating your replies! ------------------ [This message has been edited by celticmatrix (edited September 14, 2002).] |

welcome to ccn. CCN is mainly a forum for discussion. A small group of us have united to put forth quality Christian games. We have a private forum, ask krylar (the administrater) for access if you'd like to join our group. ------------------ |

quote: PC.... most active years must habe been 1995/1996... there is still an ancient web site (last update several years ago :-)) on www.sanction.de. Remarkable are the 4k intros, one is a descent level squeezed in 4k! But I did not make it, it was the coder... Thanks for the warm welcome... and be prepared to be bothered by an absolute blitz basic newbie :-) Do you plan to attend mekka/symposium'03? I was there back in 1996... wonder if its still that big though. I'll never forget the cold concrete floor in that side hall (I did not bring my camping mat... uuhh) :-) ------------------ |

quote: OMNISCENT... never knew why he labelled it that way... apparently an 'i' is missing, but who cares. Btw, do you know the demo "elements" by haujobb? Thats one after my liking (apart from the rap samples)... especially the cut to the middle part with the female voice and the light is astounding. Replace that with a reference to God, and your on your way to a good Chritian demo (at least technically). ------------------ |
