My name is Game Cypher and I would like to say hello. I am the owner of a Computer Game company trying to make a differnce in the gamming industry. Like CS Lewis I would like to produce stories with Christian Undertones to them. I am here to get to know you and look for the talent needed to develop the kind of games we plan on develop.

Heya GameCypher!

Glad you could join us, and I pray that you'll find success in your venture. Making games is definately a challenge, but with His help anything is possible

I'm not sure if you're an industry veteran or if you're just getting started, but you may consider reading "The Realities of Game Development" article on this site. The direct URL is:

God bless

did you know that C.S Lewis was a good friend of JRR Tolkien? ( Lord of The Rings ) They were mates! (true)

a classic of C.S Lewis "The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe" was televised and broadcast here in the Uk several times over the last 10 years (live action version)

it was really good too

can you please give a little more detail on the game(s) that you are planning to develop?

Acctully we need a nondiscloser agreement signed first. We need to protect ourselfs. If you are truely interested then we can e-mail you the agreement, you sign it get it back to us. If what we talk about does not interest you, you don't have to be involved, but because you signed the agrement what ever we tell you is protected.

non-discloser agreement?

this would have no effect on me whatever I'm afraid

I'm not known as the "town-crier" for nothing, actually I've already e-mailed this topic to my mother-in-law, uncle in india and my grouchy grandad in Kent (sorry)

GameCypher your official talk of signed non-discloser agreements somehow disappoints me

I understand it's for your protection but how does that fit into the confines of this forum?

I have failed to provide you with the warmth of reply you desired

I hope another member on here can assist you in that department, truly
perhaps we can talk on other issues at some stage in the future
good luck on your chosen project, I wish you well

gamecypher...

i have limited time, but my group Godcentric.com
could be interested, we have various skills and experience , some good graphis programmers , and i have experience in the game industry (well console anyhow)...

i'd be willing to sign your NDA, to look over stuff, and even if we can't commit much, we'll be willing to work as technical adivisors and advice givers, as we have a vision for christian media and games.. We would do so , prayerfully, with great sincerity and with the discernment of the Holy Spirit.. this is as far as i am willing to commit at this stage..
and before we committed much resources we would have to submit it up to God first, to see if it is his will for us.. for though there are many good God projects that could keep me more than busy my entire life, they
aren't always ones i/we are called to..
also we would be gauging your commitment to the project and the feasibility of your game.. many people have an idea but aren't commited to the extend needed to complete it, or understand game programming in depth enough.. but even with the greatest obstacles, if it is a house that the LOrd is building then it will get completed, but however, even if the label says christian, if it is a house that the Lord isn't building then the labourers labour in vain and i don't wish to labour in vain

however before you even consider sending us the NDA

check out a draft of our values and vision

http://www.godcentric.com/faith.asp?article=1

sincerely Karl..
even if we can't contribute directly, it may be good to be partners in
Christ in some manner..

top man Klumsy, very well said too

I was intrigued by your values and vision draft

I thought at first this was for CCN, which I was actually looking for yesterday in FAQ but couldn't find it and gave up

Karl
your site is of interest to me too
but I was told "your browser is not equipped with Iframes"
below this an option stated "try here"

I did so but got lost in a maze of of information at the next link which I could not identify as anything to do with your draft

oh, well that's cabletv for ya ....
take care my friend, always a pleasure to read your positive thoughts on stuff

Hi Karl
no I couldn't find it, but this may be because I'm viewing from cable tv

any site I "get to" has to comply with "cabletv" rules viz

cabletv rules

if you're interested, have a look on there, you may be "amused"

cabletv now has 2 versions
A) £5 a month internet onto TV screen
choice of www or cable movies etc to tv screen
B) £25 a month internet BROADBAND from cabletv SET TOP BOX through cable "upstairs" to your "top notch" PC

cabletv rules JUST apply to service A) not B)

I have no idea which browser, I just get www through cable, that's all I know....

interesting about that cable
so the browser will be some weird cable one.. i should look in my
webhost stats to see what it is
obvious it doesn't support IFRAME ,and the user friendly link was
to microsoft to download the latest InterNet Explorer, but i suppose you can't do that to your cable tvset , hehe

anyway here is a user friendly link without IFRAMEs
if you are interested in reading it

Welcome, as the others have said.

You may need to be a little more specific about your project before you're going to get people responding to help in large droves -- for example, what language are you planning to write the game in? Or would that depend on who you find to help? That's a major piece of the puzzle and if you let people know what you're looking for, and if you're open to other options besides that, you should be able to find some help a little quicker.

Hope I was some help. :)

>just £15 a month for 128k Broadband internet 24/7<

Thats not too bad. In the old days, I used to pay close to $200 a month for a shotgun 128k connection. Now I pay $50 a month for a 768k DSL line. Nice not to have the phone tied up, but with a wife and 4 teenage daughters, its always tied up, lol.

Hi, My name is Stormy and I think that you have a great ideal, I believe if you creat a program with disciples going in search for the lost to bring them to the lord by choose diffrent scripture and the lost replying to them. Also Helping lost people in time of need, Jesus is so Amazing and he alway help in time of need. (My son has been having problems at school with a boy hitting him, I went with him to talk with the officer and he gave him 2 choice's to either allow him to give him a warning or He could give him a ticket and have to go to court, which would cost him to have a bad record and be fined alot of money. I was so pleased to see Jesus in him when he chose to give the kid a warning. Later that day the boy came up to him and said that "you could have had the police give me a ticket, and My son replied I know, then the kid ask why didn't you? He said because I forgive you and I didn't want you to get a ticket and be introuble. I truly believe this has changed the way that boy looks at my son. I think it would be could to have a game like that because I know my 11 and 13 year old would play it. Thank You for wanting to make a diffrence. God Bless You!!!!Stormy
