Hey, I just stumbled across this site yesterday and registered today. I've been looking for a Christian game community for a while and it's great to find one (hooray!). I used to hang out at polycount (anybody been there?) but I didn't feel comfortible with all the ungodliness. God bless, ------------------ |

Thanks I hope to stick around too. I currently browse the Christian Guitar Resources boards. They have 4,500+ members and though it gets crowded sometimes it's still a cool place . Just curious, are there any other Christian game communities like this one? ------------------ |

BlazeQ what sort of music do I like?
well, this little lady is TOPS for me - she is Sarah McLachlan and she sings "Angels" - a brilliant brilliant piano concerto for those with an ear for music it was just re-released and the film of her singing and playing the piano (no other band members at all) surrounded by 100 candles is just heart rending play an instrument? just a mean bugle me... 5 notes... that's it! so...the Lakers? we have Spurs in UK, but Lakers? and how do you come to be Blaze Q? what's the story? Hiya BlazeQ, Welcome aboard! I've been a guitarist for nearly 25 years now. I play mostly hard rock/metal. Actually, I've been trying like mad to find the Stryper Tab book but it's no longer in print so I've not had much luck. Any ideas where I can snag it? Looking specifically for the "Yellow and Black Attack" and "Soldiers Under Command" stuff. I've already figured out most of the stuff, but it's still nice to have ya know? -Krylar ------------------ |

I usually do things with short bursts of energy (or blazes) and I am on fire for God ) I'm not real sure how the Q got tacked on the end but it's stuck So now I'm BlazeQ (pronounced blaze-cue ) What about the rest of you? What's your story?

More on music: Krylar: I hope I keep on playing that long (guitarist for 2 years) Have you played in bands or released any records? chiefy, being in the UK, have you heard of the band "delirious?"? Authors of the popular praise song "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever". Revelator, have you heard of the Paul Coleman Trio (Australian band)? I think they're awesome. My all time favorite music would be Audio Adrenaline's.

Any Five Iron Frenzy fans here? They're a Christian Ska band (seems to be a lot of them in the states - not many here in Blighty), and they're very good I'm not really a big fan of singing, and I usually stay silent in church because my voice is atrocious, but I like to sing to their songs If you haven't heard any of their songs, I recommend "Dandelions", and most of the live tracks ("Suckerpunch" and "A Flowery Song" are my favourite live tracks). ------------------ |

kryler, since you into heavy sort of stuff. you might be interested in hearing forgiven band.. my mates from way back , down here in New Zealand and from our church also.. they are changing their name soon, for they don't want to entertain christian but reach the lost, this album i am sending to you.. i've put the mp3's for free (they gave us @ godcentric.com full rights).. so you can grab em and listen if you wish.. this album had only 100 cd's made (most with my cd-rom burner) and they aren't going to publish it (unless there is great demand i suppose).. anyway feedback would be appreciated ------------------ |

Ty, I've heard of Five Iron Frenzy but not much of their music. They have a lot of members don't they? klumsy, I downloaded the first song (only had time to get one on my 56k) and listened to it. I like it . Kind of reminds me of the Christian band "Justified", you heard of 'em? ------------------ |

Heya, BlazeQ: I was in bands for about 12 years. Played mostly metal: Queensrych, JP, Iron Maiden, etc. Then I stopped doing the band thing and started recording instead. Just personal stuff for fun mostly. More recently I've begun writing Christian Metal...but haven't completed any recordings yet. Klumsy: Sounds great Just listend to "Kingdom Come" and "Least of All". Thanks for sending that along! -Krylar ------------------ |

Yeah, FIF have 8 members. I want to try and see them live, possibly at Cornerstone this year. Not sure if I'll be able to get to the States though =/ The W's are also another favourite of mine. Haven't really listened to many others, though apparently the Insyderz are good too. ------------------ |

Everything old is new again! I used to love listening to Stryper, and I had some of their music books, but no idea where they are now. I'm not a very good guitarist at all, but I used to love playing their song "First Love". I'm even more mellow these days, I love Kim Hill music (particularly her earlier stuff). |

I just did a google search for Stryper and it turned up www.stryper.com. I was shocked! Michael Sweet the lead singer made an album about a year ago which didn't do so good (I'm guessing). To my amazement, the website mentioned above has current tour dates for the Stryper reunion tour. Talk about shocker!!! I must admit when I was a teenager, I couldn't stand Stryper. I look back now and I have alot more respect for them. Sure they were racey and uncouth (they always pushed the limits) but they offered a style to Christian music that has paved the way for many, many other genres today. I really like 'To Hell with the Devil' now! |
