Hey, all! ^_^ Umm, I'm working on a small-buisness program for Blitz Basic, and I was wondering: Is there a way for a Blitz Basic program to accept clipboard text data? Thank you so much! ------------------ |

I wish I could help but I am a story writer and hack artist. Still it would be nice if someone answerd. Of cores we could all just sit in here and ball none stop for an answer and maybe get kicked from the board (Har har har)... never mind. ------------------ |

Oh , You're all so sweet! Thank you for caring! :-) Gosh... I didn't realize the question would be such a stumper... Maybe I could make a program that does that someday. Once I'm good enough. Thank you all so much! ------------------ |

hey jubilee, kyrler informs me that if you have the commercial version of Blitz you can call dlls.. here is a link below to an article on it. http://www.blitzcoder.com/cgi-bin/articles/show_article.pl?f=gamespeccyman01242002.html if you have the comemerical version of blitz.. either me or some of my friends at godcentric would be happy to produce a very small dll that wraps up the basic clipboard functionality in windows for you...

<<ok tell me the clipboard functions you need.. >> Do you mean "functions" as in code functions, like "IsSelected() and DoCutCopyPaste()?" If that's the case... I'm not too familiar with MFC yet,(I just learned about those IsSelected() and DoCutCopyPaste() <<plus i'll need some documentation from blitz on their dll calling standards and suchlike >> ------------------ |

hmm i just wanna know in english what clipboard functionality to you want? i can make a function that you can put some text to the clipboard and some code get some text from the clipboard.. you don't need to put graphcis or anything else do you? there will be no need for any royalty.. it will be a 5 or 10 line program that just wraps around some basic features... i just need to know (KRYLER should be able to help) how you call DLL's in blitz and what string format i should use for parameters (ASCIIZ?) and what calling convention (PASCAL, STDCALL, FASTCALL yada yada yada) Karl ------------------ |

Heya, Jubilee: I can help with the Blitz side, if need be. Klemzy: Looks like it'll only accept Int returns. Check out the following two links: http://www.blitzcoder.com/cgi-bin/articles/show_article.pl?f=gamespeccyman01242002.html ...and... http://www.blitz3d.co.uk/index.php4?page=command_doc&command_name=CallDLL Hope that helps! -Krylar ------------------ |

<<hmm i just wanna know in english what clipboard functionality to you want?i can make a function that you can put some text to the clipboard and some code get some text from the clipboard.. you don't need to put graphcis or anything else do you?>> Oh, I see now. :-D All my program would need is the ability to accept text from and send text to the clipboard. Sorry about my previous vagueness. -_-
Don't worry, Krylar, I'm praying for you, too. :-) Thank you for your support and that useful documentation! Also, Rowan, Angel, God Bless you both for caring. ^_^ Have a wonderful sabbath, everyone !
