It seems that my threads are all played out, and that the discussion has died. This is not so bad for me, because I am learning ASP, and need to learn ASP.NET/C# really quickly, i.e. time is of the essence. I s'pose I might come back sometime, we'll see what happens.

Nice to chat to you all, even the ones who avoided answering my questions. The funny thing: I was often accused of not thinking for myself, of just regurgitating my churches views. In fact I have the most in depth understanding of 1 Cor 12-14 of anyone I know, which is not my doing, but God's, in tandem with the masses of people who have caused me to pray and read with care in discussing them with me online. In all that time, only two people have become Christians as a result, both of them people who thought they were saved before, even as I once did. Truly the road is narrow, and it is only His sheep who hear His voice...

The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector

Luke 18:9-14
To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable: "Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men--robbers, evildoers, adulterers--or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.'
"But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.'
"I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

God Bless you and keep you close MeanMan

PS. Legend has it that a Sunday school teacher who was teaching this to her pupils finished the class by saying "Lord we thank you that we are not like that Pharisee"

D - SIPL ..... hi friend

strange how a person can become emotional on one of these boards yes but it has happened to me, so I agree with you

it is no doubt through a respect for one another's views despite the fact that we are quite possibly thousands of miles apart

we have in common, faith and language, nothing more is needed eh?

D-SIPL, hey this place is SOOOO friendly -

thanks for your welcome too.....

yeah EPSOM is great, I used to be a motorcycle instructor over there for the legendary "STAR RIDER" firm. I was a bronze instructor and still have a video of me sorting out 6 students, one of whom had never even ridden a bicycle before - let alone a motorcycle, needless to say, I just had no chance, it was chaos! The video is hilarious ! Yeah great memories of EPSOM, I also took my kids over to EPSOM to see the HAMPTON COURT HORSE RANGERS in the early 90s - a great arena place (HOOK?) where there was a wild west shoot out between cowboys, stage coach bandits and after that clowns, my 2 kids were then aged 4 and 6 - loved it all !! another videotape I have, has got a lot of that day sealed too - not that I dwell on the past or anything.... ! so I remember EPSOM well alright!!

Hey D-SIPL next time you're DJing; play one from Sarah MacLachlan - she is TOPS! Did you see her on TOTP last month with (in the arms of the) ANGEL?
She is so amazing, just her and a piano, check out these lyrics :
1) pulled from your wreckage
2) vultures and thieves at your back...........

know it? anyway ......... nice to chat.... see you about eh ?

Hi Chiefy...

I usually only DJ hard-house and Tech-House, but i think i could sample the vocals from it and use it. Do you ever go to Soul Survivor, or Faith Camp etc??

God Bless ya mate!

Hey D-SIPL, many thanks my friend

hey I must admit that the phrases "Hard house" and "tech house," are not even within my vocabularly. But I always dreamed of being a DJ. A leisure centre near me always runs a weekly rollerskating night with a DJ in full control of the music. The DJ can ruin/make the occasion, I'm sure you're aware, so, do you get many "unusual" requests?

Take care

Not really... i play what i want to play... the crowd sometimes make requests but there mostly 'shout out's'.

I do agree with you, a DJ makes or breaks the atmosphere, i like to work the crowd up slowly, build them into a frenzy and drop a massive tune that absolutely rox the place... I used to make mistakes but not so much now.

I did have someone request Billy Jean, just as i was in the middle of a drum n bass set?? It would be like 'System of a Down' singing a hymn i suppose !!!

Anywayz catch ya later!!
